Melissa & Doug Jumbo Numbers Wooden Chunky Puzzle (20 pcs)

This is the second one of these Ive purchased. Our first one was chewed on by our dog (whoops) so when our youngest started showing an obsession with numbers I immediately purchased another one. He loves it. The chunky number pieces can be used in the puzzle, stood up on a table in a row or used in counting activities. We also purchased the alphabet version!

We love this alphabet puzzle. Our daughter has a slight speech delay and one day we saw this puzzle being used on a youtube video and it really got her interest. We bought it right away and she started following along with that video, saying the letters. It isnt one of those toys that was interesting for 5 minutes. We have had it for months now and she still loves it and has learned a lot from it. There has been no peeling or chipping and has held up great. The part I like best is that even when the pieces are removed, there are still letters underneath to see and learn from.

My son loves this puzzle! The colors are so bright

The original construction of this puzzle included paint all around the puzzle piece. Now, its just a cheap paper laminate on the top; the remainder of the puzzle piece is compressed cardboard. I called Melissa and Doug directly and asked whether they were still making the high quality version of the board, and she said they had discontinued it. They did offer to refund our money or send us an alternative toy, so that was nice. Ultimately, I kept the alphabet puzzle because its one of the better ones out there. However, I hate how Melissa and Dough cut corners on the new version. Disappointing, and now the pieces are chipping/peeling on the top, which means it looks even worse. Recommendation: Keep an eye out for the better quality version at thrift stores or garage sales. It will hold up better and youll pay less money.

We bought this and the Jumbo Numbers Wooden Chunky Puzzle and they were a hit with my daughter. She is now 4 and doesnt play with it much but my friends younger children love coming over and playing with it. The letters are big and easy to grab. I liked to mix them up and ask her to name the letter and then find where it went in the puzzle. She loved naming the animal on the puzzle. It taught her animals and letters. She still mentiones the animals on this puzzle when she says a certain letter (A is for alligator, just like on my puzzle!). The colors and quality is great too.

I bought this for my grandson for Christmas he has played with it for hours it is so adorable and well-made. Very pleased with the purchase

Numbers are big and bold. Love the size. Great for little hands to grab. My only complaint is the 6 and 9 are interchangeable and fit in each others pot. The colors don’t match but if you are doing numbers outside of the puzzle frame, then they could be either one. Overall a great puzzle.

This product is wonderful, beautiful, easy for my 2 year old to play with, however. I f your child still chews on toys you may want to wait. This puzzle is paper glued onto the wood instead of being painted like most of M&D products, so chewers can actually eat the paper off. I realize that this is not a flaw in the product, just that my daughter may still be a little young to play with it properly. Overall I love this puzzle and pretty much anything created by M&D. I would highly recommend for 3-4+.

I wanted something to help my daughter who is 19 months with her letters and this is perfect. She can easily match the letters, they are a good size since she still puts things in her mouth and cant choke. Each letter has two pictures that start with that letter which has been helpful when she is looking where to put the letter I can help by identifying the picture. You can also use them to spell out words (makes me want another set of just letters). Very versatile and great quality.
