> 3 dayThese are wonderful headphones. I’m far from an expert, but I have had many headphones… pods, buds, over-ear, etc. I’ve had a couple of sets that cost right about the same as these. There’s no comparison. The Meze 99’s produce great sound. Clarity, yes. Range, sure. Detail, that’s probably the most noticeable for me. I love when I can hear a note through it’s decay. I listen to a lot of types of music: rock and pop to ambient and techno, hard bop jazz to ballads, classical, even a little opera. I’ve had these almost a month, and so far they provide the same high quality for everything I put into them. I did realize in the first few days listening with them that my glasses under the pads greatly reduced the quality. Not a surprise, but I’m pretty new to glasses. So, I can adjust them just above the pads and read while listening to amazing music. I hear from many experts that these compete with much more expensive headphones. Couldn’t confirm that, as I’ve never heard any of those. I’d just say music sounds very enjoyable to me with these. It’s as close as I’ve ever experienced to being in the same room with the music from headphones.

Greater than one weekBest headphones I’ve tried by far. You can hear every detail in the music. It’s a great addition to my home studio and has completely changed my practice routine!

> 3 dayThese headphones came in second in a review by a trusted site. Their backstory was so unique and their promise of a totally different experience so appealing to me, I decided to take the plunge. Wow! Am I glad I did. These headphones are very comfortable and so well made! The wood ear cups definitely add a smoother dimension to the sound. The bass is rich, yet, the highs are still very pronounced. I have had three sets of headphones and none of them came close to this quality. Frankly, this is a stunning edition to the headphones field and should seriously be considered by the shopper. I told my son they were “life-changing.” If you love music, you just might agree.

> 3 dayGreat sounding and great looking headphones. These are very affordable especially when compared to other high-end headphones. The Meze 99 Classics were bought through Amazon, using Meze as the merchant, and they arrived within a couple of days after placing the order. I found these headphones at the 2017 L.A. Audio Show, and after listening to incredibly high-end (and high priced) electrostatic headphones and others with planar magnetics I gave the Meze 99 Classics another listen. Bought mine right away. Amazon and Meze delivered promptly.

> 3 dayGreat pair of headphones for when youre on the go. A really good amount of detail and clarity, similar to M50x. But much better bass thump. Great vocals. Like many warmer, thumpier headphones between $150-$500, these are very forgiving of whatever source/dac/amp you use, so I never feel the need to use a specialized dac/amp with these. It does improve with the H2, of course, but the difference is not as dramatic as it is for the m50x, Utopias, HD800, T1. The Meze 99 Classics are as forgiving as the tr80/250. I also think the Meze 99 Classics have struck a really fun, musical balance between the different frequency ranges. Not flat by any means, but foot tapping fun. The sound profile and forgiving nature of the sound and the lightness of the Meze 99 Classics are ideal when out and about town, but not needing noise cancellation. The original headphones I used for being out and about, but not needing noise cancellation was the tr80/250. It has a nice thumpy sound, isolates okay, gets in a good amount of detail and clarity, is very forgiving of the source, but somehow lacks the toe tapping fun of the Meze 99 Classics. The only thing I wish is that these had the fold flat capability of the m50x (the analytical headphones I reserve for audio recording). Fold flat is useful for both getting into my thin iPad bag, and also when I want the headphones around my neck and out of the way.

> 3 dayFirst of all, let me say right out of the box that these headphones impressed me. The Build is great the comfort is the best I have ever had. Now as for the sound if you just want to listen to music and not worried about every little detail then these are for you. I should mention that yes there is a lot of bass but its not overpowering at least not to me. the highs are crisp without fatiguing the mids are smooth. The overall sound is just fun. These headphones are for just relaxing and listening to your favorite tunes.

> 3 dayI reeeeally wanted to love these headphones, they were so beautiful and the case was amazing but once I put them on my head I noticed they pinched right under my ears causing pain. I thought that meant they needed to be broken in, but than I played some music through them and was thoroughly disappointed in the sound. The bass on some songs were great but any songs with nice vocals or symbols were just clouded and kinda distorted by the bass. The headphones bleed noise like no tomorrow to where I could hear every lyric to the song my dad was listening to even though they were closed back. If they released a more balanced sound with less noise bleed than I would actually consider buying a different pair but these werent for me. If you listened to nothing but rap and hip hop than I can see these fitting your taste more but I literally listen to everything and the sound was just gross.

> 3 dayMost of my headphones are open back, and I share an office with my father so I needed a closed back solution. I heard great things about these and man I love them. Nice and punchy without losing any clarity, and they dont really need any EQ adjustments for my tastes. Use the mostly for gaming but theyre great for music.
