> 3 dayOMG -- these are without a doubt the most beautiful sounding headphones I have ever listened to; and, Ive listened to plenty. A firm believer in Sennheiser, I thought I would have to wait until I could afford around $1,600.00 to hear the ultimate headphone, even though I own two pairs of Sennheisers already. These cost me over $100.00 more than the 99s each!!! When I read the reviews that ultimately led to their purchase, I was expecting a very mellow, perhaps dark, sounding headphone. Not at all -- this headset needs only two adjectives -- perfectly musical. As a trumpet player, musician, and audiophile I honestly cant believe the accuracy of these cans. The cymbal crashes demonstrate harmonics and tone quality! Yes, thats right, not toneless splashes. Further, the bass is strong, clean and there is no coloration of tone quality in other instrumentation using those same frequencies. This review has been written after first listen out of the box. No break in. Lastly, I flattened the EQ in foobar to make sure I wasnt hearing boosted bass or lowered treble frequencies. Well, I wasnt. These Meze 99 Classics simply sound gorgeous!! You will not find a better sounding pair of cans on the planet for $300.00.

> 3 dayExcellent sound to go with the beautiful looks. Very easy to drive. Is it neutral? no. Enjoyable? YES. Comparing to Oppo PM3, I like both. PM3 is like listening to a performance inside recording studio, everything is super clean, while Meze 99 makes me feel like sitting in a concert hall that has more exciting and warmer acoustics. Sometimes I wish the bass could be a little tighter. So far I have only tried this for 24 bit FLAC or DSD files (mostly classical music) with the following DAC/amps: iFi Micro iDSD, Dragonfly Red 1.0, and Acoustic Research AR-M20 HiRes Audio Player, Sony NW-WM1A HiRes Walkman (SE and balanced output). They all sound wonderful.

> 3 dayGo to the website and see for yourself, high-tech , great engineering, WOW comfort and sound ! I am used to listening with a system of Paradigm speakers- Atmos setup , all Prestige level and Anthem Processor (AVM60) and Amps -A5 and PVA 4, I listen for the enjoyment of quality sound production, listening sessions are special times for me. I am blessed to be able to do this, so, I decided that I would try headphones , needed some for privacy and not disturbing others times. So, I began to explore new options, came across the Meze products, studied the company, read the reviews, and said ok, go for it.....well, very glad I did! The 99 Classics were all and some more added to the build-up. took the 1993 Pink Floyd “Pulse” DVD ,listened to disc 2 and became a member of the audience, immersed in the event. There is a lot I could say about the production of this masterful work/ music and light show production, but that is not the point, pick your own sources, the Meze 99 classics are very, very Good- for the $, a real steal of a value . Looking forward to my next selection of music from the collection of music DVD/ BluRay, maybe Bruce Hornsby “ Three Nights on the Town” concert or One of the Clapton “Crossroads” concerts... whatever, Try the Meze, I think you will enjoy them . > 3 dayIm using the headphones with a Schitt Asgard Amp/DAC combo and these are my first quality headphones (more that $100), lol. The only complaint is that I had to replace the ear pads, but I do that on all headphones Guess I have giant ears. I upgraded to some Brainwavz Sheepskin ear pads. Ears no longer touch the driver or the edges of the ear pad. Anyway, love the headphones, would recommend or buy again.

> 3 dayI didnt expect these headphones to sound as good as they do. The 99 classics plus amazon hd music have been a real joy to listen to. Only gripe, earcups are a little small for my ears, cups rub against my ears. Very comfortable to wear for extended listening sessions. I can only describe the sound as natural and warm, not to bright.

Greater than one weekSome of the most comfortable headphones Ive ever owned. Excellent sound quality with low impedance, so no DAC necessary to drive them. Great looking too with the walnut cups and the gold accents. Easily recommendable.

> 3 dayCaught these on prime day for $247 for that price these are beyond amazing! To start I don’t have oodles experience with high end hp’s, these are warm sounding with exciting, fun sound. They aren’t going to be the most analytical hp out there but for 80%-90% of people these will be all you’ll ever need. I run these with a ifi nano black label amp/dac and it does improve the sound quit a bit. Ppl say these are bass cannons I disagree and find them to have great bass, they are tuned very well and just sound great. You won’t be disappointed.

> 3 dayGreat headphones! Build quality is great. I love the way the wood cups look. The headphones are comfortable and they didn’t get warm for me as others have stated online. I like the fact that they are very efficient and you don’t need a headphone amplifier. The sound is the best I have heard for the price. I auditioned Sony, McIntosh, Grado, hifiman and Bose. The mid and highs are stellar. Very clean and silky smooth. Spacious. The bass is a little heavy but not over bearing. That can be adjusted with your device. I use the Astell & Kern AK240 for my playback device and the headphones are very dynamic and a joy to just sit and lose yourself with a great album. In Greek Meze means appetizer and they for sure wet your pallet. I don’t have any reservations recommending these headphones.
