22-11-2024Installed this on my 2015 Forest River Work&Play toy hauler 18ec. Now I’m able to run the AC off a 2200 watt Honda generator. Easy to install with the instructional video from YouTube.

> 3 dayI put this on 13500btu. I ran this with a generator and a plug. in both instances it made the AC not cool a 7x10 foot room. it was easier on the generator, it just would not get cool. I also tried to reset the unit back to stock, but still kept the AC restricted to much to use. so I took it off and it cools the room more than efficiently. I also did the turning on and off as the instructions indicated.

> 3 dayI wouldnt have thought it possible, but all the reviews and YouTube videos are accurate. After running the EasyStart through the learning process on shore power, the a/c was blowing cold with the 1600/2000 watt inverter generator in eco mode (not full throttle). I live near sea level, so Im curious how well it will work at altitude. Installation was a breeze. Micro-Air provides wiring directions on a multitude of a/c models. I found a YouTube that did a step-by-step installation on my specific a/c model, greatly simplifying the installation. Interestingly, connecting the Bluetooth monitor took the most time. The EastStart didnt appear in my phones bluetooth settings. I did not find bluetooth ID as shown in the Amazon product description. A second set of instructions that arrived a day later from Hutch Mountain, sent with the installation kit, shows were to find the bluetooth ID. In a couple of hours it was up and running. I can monitor its performance, and I have peace of mind, knowing that the Easy Start is reporting that all is well. Start-up amperage is 13.3 amps.

> 3 dayThe EasyStart was pretty simple to install. I didn’t need to call for support. The materials provided were good. The product works great. I installed two of these, and both 15kbtuh air conditioners will run on 30a shore power, and start on a 4KW Generator.

> 3 dayI installed this over the weekend and it was easier to install than I expected because the install kit includes everything you need. It took me maybe 20 minutes and most of that time was getting the ladder out of the garage. The A/C unit starts and runs on a normal household 120v outlet now, and we can run it on a 2000w generator if needed. Not cheap, but a must-have in my opinion.

> 3 dayI installed this on my Furrion camper AC so I could power it with my generator without full hookup 30 amp shore power. It works just fine. As usual there is an excellent video on YouTube showing how to install this although the video simplifies the install and skips some painful details. There are 14 screws to be removed to remove the AC cover. Then there are 9 difficult to remove screws holding in the capacitor and you need a long magnetic screwdriver for this since the capacitor is in a small metal box with metal cover jammed with wiring. Easy start has a website where you can download the wiring diagram with install instructions for your unit although its difficult to find exactly what you need, ie a full page diagram and you should be able to read a wiring diagram. The metal box fully encloses the capacitor so its impossible to reinstall the cover because theres no hole in the box to insert the Easy start wiring. Not a major problem however. Then you need to be able to splice wiring, cut a wire or two etc. Make sure all the splicing and connectors are solid and secure and wont come loose since the AC unit is open to the air as you move down the road and subject your wiring job to vibration and high winds. The only real downside to all this is if you plan to use a so called battery only generator it will only power the AC for about an hour before running out of power. A gasoline powered generator will of course give you unlimited power for as long as you have enough gasoline to keep it running.

> 3 dayPretty expensive in my opinion, but if it does what it says it would be worth it to me. Electrically, a super-simple install. Install kit was worth it, made things very easy, especially the WAGO connectors. Mechanically, a little more trouble. Only one spot to mount the Microair, and no great way to route wires. Found a good enough path. Fired up my brand-new Wen 56235i 2350/1900W generator. Would run the a/c for maybe 20 secs before overload. Oh no. But that was at 6,000 ft elevation and 104F. Ordered two high-latitude jets from Wen: one for 3,000-6,000 feet and one for 6-9,000 feet. Installed the 3-6k kit and the Wen ran the a/c! I didnt get it to run anything else but the a/c, so its a win.

> 3 dayEasy to follow instructions via YouTube and the included hardware made the install super quick and easy. We have a 15k Dometic running off of our 2500 portable generator in our RV thanks to the Easystart.
