The Maker Select V2 was my first 3D Printer, and this hotend was one of my first upgrades for it. It has been running reliably for more than 2 years. Ive now got a small farm including 3x Maker Selects, Ender-3, CR-10, etc. and use the Micro Swiss all metal hotends on almost every single one of them (Creality machines use a different model). They are drop-in replacements, take about 10 minutes to install and work great.

I gave this item a 5 star for overall quality and for ease of installation and 3 stars for value for the money. I couldn’t get it to work right to save my life. I watched just about every YouTube video on how to install it and use it, etc. but personally have had no luck. I finally gave up and returned it for a refund. I was really hoping to get away from my hot end which uses the plastic tube as a heat break. Oh well, maybe you will have better luck with it than I did.

Im only about 30 minutes into a print with this hotend, but so far it has solved all of my underextrusion issues.

I will say that I trust the quality of the company, but I just had a bad experience with the product. First, the steel heat break is rounded with two flat sides that can fit a small wrench. The problem is that its very easy to strip the sides and make the throat near-impossible to remove without using something with teeth- which would cause more damage. This could be fixed better if the break was shaped like a full bolt. Second, the slotted cold block is a great idea, except that the way its made makes it impossible to adjust the orientation of the heater block. In order to install it on a Wanhao-style machine (MS v2.1), you have to install the throat first, and tighten it since you cant get to that bolt once its in the carriage. Then, install it onto the carriage, since you cant get to those bolts when the heater block is there. Then properly install the heater block with the nozzle. The last part makes it incredibly difficult to both properly tighten the nozzle and have the heater block oriented the right way for the heater and thermistor. Because of that, my nozzle started to leak PETG, which basically glued the nozzle and heat break together in the heater block, so I ended up losing nearly my whole hotend. These guys are pretty expensive to just lose.

Works great. Make sure you follow the directions to the letter. Also have to print a little hotter than you did before and reduce retraction. Most people complaining of clogs miss these two tips.

I have a Monoprice Maker Select 3D Printer v2 and it would stop extruding half way through the print. I tried new PLA and changed around setting and temperatures but nothing worked. Went on a forum and someone said this worked for them. Well let me tell you...they were 100% correct. This was easy to install (if you closely follow the online directions) and my prints seem to be coming out even better now. Totally recommend this to anyone having this problem, or if you justwant to upgrade your printer for not a lot of $

Learning curve with temps...etc after recently getting into 3D printing, but happy I went with this and Im good with my settings now. I like to tinker and from a technical background so installing this was a snap...Id say anyone with a 3D printer should be technical enough to get this swapped out though and its not scary at all except if you arent careful and burn yourself...only thing to be aware of. There are a lot of videos on the tube ...check out Inside The Mind Of Matt if you want a good walk-through (goofy) on installing this...just search for Operation MicroSwiss.

Its working like a charm. Easy to install. After doing a PID tunning with Octoprint i have not had any issues.

I was excited to finally install an All Metal Hotend so I could finally print PETG. Was all ready to put it on, opened the box to this... Completely unusable and broken. How is this new? EDIT: It looks as if someone took the All Metal Hotend out, and returned the original Hotend in the box. Does Micro-Swiss even check return packages? VERY DISAPPOINTED.
