Micro Swiss Direct Drive Extruder for Creality CR-10 / Ender 3 Printers

> 3 dayThis is my 1st hotend replacement since I purchased my original v1 Ender-3 about 3 years ago. Until now, Ive only ever used a bowden setup. This direct drive extruder / hotend combo has given me nearly zero stringing with PETG which is awesome! After installing this, I was required to customize and compile the Marlin firmware, which did take me several hours to learn how to properly configure the various settings. After installing the MicroSwiss and custom Marlin, I did have an issue where the Y-Axis (Bed) was moving too far forward and causing the belt to slip (sounds like the bed slamming into the frame). Im certain there is a better way, but for the time being I configured the Y_MAX_POS to be Y_BED_SIZE - 13. Shaving off 13 mm from the y axis solved the problem, though I may have lost some printable area, not sure yet. I do have some new z layer banding that I didnt have before, but I will troubleshoot it and hopefully find a solution.

> 3 dayI purchased this, primarily, to make printing flexible materials easier for the Ender. I know that there are better extruders that help, but my two other printers are direct drive and I never have any issues with them. You will have to print a little slower with the extra weight on the gantry, but slower is the way to print flexibles successfully anyhow. Just remember to calibrate your esteps and change your retraction settings in your slicer.

> 3 dayInstalled this after spending countless hours running calibration tests and adjusting settings just to yield the same results. Be sure and calibrate the e-steps and change retraction settings again after install and you should see great results.

> 3 dayMounted on an older CR-10. Perfect fit and the benefit of a full metal hotend for abs printing.

> 3 dayI had set aside purchasing this for awhile and always had the thought the of wanting to print flexible filaments in the back of my mind as well. I decided to finally pull the trigger and purchase this kit, absolutely love it. Took some time to get everything dialed in but once figure out, it works great and flexibles are a breeze. I installed it on my Voxelab Aquila which is a Ender 3 V2 clone and fits for the most part. End stop is more enclosed than the Ender 3 requiring a new end stop cover and the fan shroud for the hot end is mounted differently on the Aquila requiring me to use the stock end 3 shroud for the time being. But this definitely worth every penny!

Greater than one weekI have a ender 3, 2 CR-10S Pros, Prusa MK2.5, and a CR-10S. I installed this hotend on my CR-10S its been collecting dust, I use my pros most of the time. Installing this hotend on my CR-10S has now turned my CR-10S into my printer of choice to run. Now my CR-10S pros are collecting dust going to have to get them upgraded soon.

> 3 dayThis completely eliminated my stringing problems on my Ender 3 v2. It was easy to follow the instructions and install, it took me less than an hour. However, it was missing 2 or 3 screws from the kit to connect the extruder and the plate for the hotend.
