19-11-2024Fixed a good bit of my issues with the stock extruder! Be aware that with the extra weight you may have to look into getting dual Z, just a little deeper into the rabbit hole. All in all, solid upgrade!

> 3 dayI don’t normally take the time to write a Amazon review but I was just about to donate my CR10S (cuz I have Bambu P1P now) however after upgrading from a generic DD to dual direct drive micro Swiss all I can say is wow! I’m offloading some of my structural prints from Bambu to this unit and doing my TPU on this unit. See pics. Very impressed.

> 3 dayFrom what I can tell it extrudes just fine, the issue is that no matter how tightly I screw everything together the hotend has play when it is heated up. Ive checked to see if anything stripped and from what I can tell they have not.

> 3 dayGot this just in time, shipped right away. Opened the box and you can see everything is in there nothing is missing. Everything looks like it’s good quality material and well made. Can’t wait to start big projects.

> 3 dayPurchased this for my Cr10 so I could print flexible filaments with ease. It works great and the print quality is fantastic! Very well made, good instructions, wish I bought it sooner!

> 3 dayUpdate: After directly contacting micro Swiss they sent me the replacement parts for what had broken while following their installation guide. They specified that the nozzle should only be finger tight which is working perfectly. After modifying the stepper settings for the extruder my Ender 3 Pro is ripping and having no issues printing PLA or TPU with superb print quality. Initial Review: I recently purchased this direct drive with the all metal hotend. I was following the steps to fully seat the nozzle and immediately the nozzle ripped off of the hotend. I read the installation manual and even had watched the video tutorial for reference. I’m going to be honest I’m extremely disappointed as this was not a cheep part and should not have broken so easily. Is there a way that the pictured parts can be replaced or at least that I could order only the pieces that are unusable.

> 3 dayI installed this on my Creality Ender 3 v2. Installation was straight forward and well documented with photos. You have to download a PDF from the micro swiss site, as no paper instructions are included, but this wasnt an issue for me. It would have been nice if some of the hardware was included in the kit (bolts etc), but you can reuse some from your stock Creality hot end to get the job done. Unfortunately, this kit is not compatible with the ender 3 v2 fan assembly without printing a fan shroud. Not a huge deal, but still something I wish I had noticed prior to buying this kit. I dont know what they are thinking recommending the fan shroud to be printed in PLA, as mine (printed in petg) is getting decently hot. Maybe if you are only using the hot end to print low temperature materials, this would be fine. The extruder and the hot end are working really well. The direct drive gears fit perfectly, pulling the filament smoothly during printing and retractions. The hot end seems to be performing well without any appreciable heat creep towards the extruder (at least in the ~20 hrs of printing Ive done @245C). I did have to raise my printing temperature to get the same results using this all metal hot end, but that is something that is suggested in the instructions. The major issue I have with this is that the stainless steel nozzle that this comes with seems to stick really badly to petg compared to other nozzles I have used. Petg tends to be a pain as far as globbing up on nozzles of certain material, so I guess thats okay. I just wish it had come with maybe a spare nozzle of a different material at this price point. Some of the machined parts had a few deep scratches and gouges in them, which isnt pretty, but I dont think it will affect the performance of this assembly. I might end up getting a different hot end and extruder setup for my next printer, as there are a decent number of quality options around this price point. The ease of installation is definitely what made me decide to buy this, as its nearly a drop in replacement for the printers its compatible with. Overall, I do not regret this purchase at all, but I do think there is room for improvement in the parts included.

> 3 dayA good all-metal hotend and direct drive carrier open a world of possibilities with your printer. With the incredible machining work on this all metal direct-drive hot-end, it’s quite impressive that MicroSwiss has been able to keep the price point as low as they have. The backing plate/carriage is quite versatile, with extra holes to mount other fan shrouds, sensors, etc. and sets the heater block roughly in the same place as a stock ender 3(version whatever). The carriage and direct drive unit all mount in a very balanced way, and I have not noticed any negative effects from the extra weight on the gantry, but a second Z-axis lead-screw was helpful. The heater block and heat break are of equal quality to the carriage, heating up much faster than stock, with no more PTFE tubes melting, and is ready for a higher temp heater cartridge and a +300C thermistor. May upgrade to a K-type thermocouple in the near future.

> 3 dayInstalled this after spending countless hours running calibration tests and adjusting settings just to yield the same results. Be sure and calibrate the e-steps and change retraction settings again after install and you should see great results.

> 3 daybe very very careful cleaning this hotend! I purchased it less than 3 months ago and have stripped the grub screws. it is junk now. cant find anything about a warranty on amazon. Im going to look at the MS website. probably doesnt cover my issue though
