The wire is fine, but the female connectors only make connection with the male barrel at the little rim in the front of the connector, as a result they have high resistance and are not suitable for the amount of current that the 18ga wire can support. Other female barrel connector designs make contact over a larger surface area.

These plugs and connectors are easy to work with. The cable’s quality is excellent and its length is perfect.

I bought these to replace the aluminum wired barrel connector on my FatShark FPV goggle 18650 battery case because its barrel connector began to fail, shutting the goggles off in mid flight. Thats dangerous. I also ordered a 2500mah 2s Lipo battery to power the goggles, so I made an adapter with this barrel connector on one end and an XT30 connector on the other end so I could charge the battery. The battery charges just fine on my Lipo charger with the adapter I made. The wires never became hot or even warm. I like this 20 pack. Its inexpensive and Im sure Ill have a use for the rest of them at some point. Its always good to have spare parts around.

I got these for my 12v dc system I have added it to the battery and my maintainer for my motorcycle, golf cart, lawn mower, trail feeder battery, camper battery, heck any 12v battery I have these pig tails on for quick connect charging and maintaining over the winter, will order more, so convenient

used these leads to make a quick connect to a battery source. These hold tight and make a great connection. Wire diameter is fine for several amps, nothing more than 5 amps. Solder well too.

I was looking for a 5.5/2.1 connector pair that actually had some copper in them, and came across these. They advertise 18awg and that appears to be a valid claim. I was given a similar type of connector pair and the wiring in it was very thin. These had much more actual wire. And when I stripped them with a good set of wire strippers using the 18 gauge setting they stripped cleanly. Ive used several of the pairs that came in the bundle and theyve all worked perfectly. No complaints so far, and Im writing this review before ordering my second bundle.
