I bought this so time ago and it still works! I can read it perfectly and i believe it gives me a better accuracy than other that i have bought! Will update if anything changes.

After I bought my first solid wood guitar, I started researching guitar care. The most noteworthy thing I found was the importance of making sure your humidity is not too low or too high, which can destroy even the highest end of guitars over time. I had no earthly idea what the humidity was in my house so I purchased these cheap hygrometers. It’s been 6+ months and the battery’s are fine on both, and the two read the exact same number side-by side, so they get the job done. Come to find out my humidity is in the optimum range pretty much year round, but it gave me peace of mind that I wasn’t letting my expensive instrument degrade over time.

I use these in my jars to monitor the humidity and it works for what it is but on the back where the battery enclosure is you push it down and slide it to open or close it and the it holds the battery in and pushes it against the connectors and if the door is loose the battery wont push against the connector enough resulting in the screen being faded its nothing serious I just used a little piece of tape and put it in the back side of the door to create more pressure, pushing the battery more against the battery terminal.

I got this for my new crested gecko and new hermit crabs. The product was already on and working out of the package. The package came with extra batteries and 3M adhesive to stick to. I used Velcro command strips for mine. Would recommend for anyone who needs to track temperature and humidity!

I bought these for the temperature moreso than the hygrometer. After having them up for a while, I can think of so many uses for them! I chose these ones because they were cheap enough to get with my remaining amazon credit. I only have a window AC and a small space heater in my bedroom, and I had to keep the temperature above 60F during the cold freeze in order to keep my dwarf hamster from possibly going into torpor (a kind of emergency hibernation due to coldness or illness that can be fatal for the hamster.) As you can see, the temperature reading is very small, and you cant really read it unless youre looking straight at it, but it worked well enough. I was able to calculate during the cold wave the duration Id have to leave my heater on in order to keep the temperature at 65F. I live in Louisiana so the cold wave didnt last long, but this really saved me a lot of anxiety. I have two in the room on different sides and they always read slightly different temperatures (because one side has a draft) so Im confident about their accuracy. I also didnt realize how useful knowing the humidity would soon become. Since the humidity is easy to read Ive found myself making certain observations... My night sweats are the worst when the humidity is over 80, and my allergies are worst when the humidity is below 60, etc. Ive noticed the different ways my body will feel based on the fluctuating humidity. (It is naturally very humid here, but my AC rapidly takes a lot of the humidity out of the air, therefore the wide fluctuations.) I can see the extreme usefulness of these for people keeping animals or plants that require a certain humidity level! One of them sticks on my hamsters tank so I can really imagine anything in a tank etc that needs to be kept humid will benefit from this hygrometer. I even figured out how to keep the temperature in both sides of my room slightly different so that I can be cooler while my hamster is warmer.

TLDR; don’t expect pinpoint accuracy, but it’s reliable for general readings. Good purchase for its price point. I have no need for scientific measurements; I just need to make sure the air is wet enough for my plants without spending an unreasonable amount. If you buy a pack of two, you notice the two will show different readings for both humidity and temp, and there’s not really a way to calibrate these. However, the readings are still within 1 or 2 degrees of each other. And from testing by transitioning from normal room humidity to the inside of my tropical plant enclosure, it’s definitely able to pick up the changes in humidity within a minute or so. Another note: leaving these in 90%+ humidity for a long time (maybe 6hr+?) will cause the display to glitch out and become unreadable. Moving the device back to lower humidity will fix it if you wait a bit. And if not, just remove the batteries and put ‘em back. That usually fixes everything.

The 2 meters for $6 bucks or whatever is awesome. Comes with double sided sticky tape. But if you put it on the back, it covers where you change out the battery, so I stuck it to the bottom, which isn’t the most convenient for reading but it serves its purpose well enough for the price.

A good bang for your buck, not exactly lab grade equipment (the two units does not quite agree on either humidity or temperature) but good enough for my purpose - checking if my Swamp Cooler will work.

I use several of these to monitor humidity inside musical instrument cases. I occasionally check their calibration using hydrated potassium carbonate as a standard, and I have never found one more than one percent high or low. Allowing for the value of the four spare batteries if you bought them at a drugstore, the devices themselves are almost free!

Sturdy and stayed stuck on glass terrarium wall. Seems pretty accurate as they both matched up together before being placed in the terrariums. Placement for the sticky could be better or a permanent way of sticking as when the batteries need changed, it’ll have to come off, but that could also be a user error on my end. Overall recommend.
