Greater than one weekThe mesh disks provide a superior finish. The Sungold product line of similar disks (see my other reviews) perform equally as well in my opinion. You will be pleased with either the Abranet or Sungold product. Buying by the box of 50 is the most cost effective.

> 3 dayI just came across these 01-23-21 thrown in with all the other 5 sander disks. I dont remember purchasing them 08-18. It was a time I was drawing my SS and kept working ,as a machinist ,an extra two years putting every spare dime into my future woodworking because I new I would have very little money for such things after I retired. The backing is a bit like scotch bright only less dense. You dont have to worry bout lining the holes up making you a much cleaner environment. Were all more aware of dust and fumes these days especially when we hit 60 years old which i did 10 years ago. Just dont sand out anything thats wet, I assume they will clog up, and they should last at least as long as the standard ones.

> 3 dayI love the Abranet system! It requires an extra pad protector, and the disks are more expensive than the paper Mirka disks I was buying before. But the disks last much longer, the sander is able to pick up more of the dust, and I am able to get a much smoother finish on the hard maple I first sanded with these. Before, I stopped at 320 grit because the pads became ineffective (clogged or the grit wore out, Im not sure which) so fast that I didnt think finer grit was even worth trying. Because I bought the 35 piece variety pack of Abranet disks, I bought a 5 pack of the protector pads separately. Now I can sand up to 600 grit, and the finish is glassy smooth. Im glad I got 5 of the protector pads because now I can share samples of the Abranet system with friends.

> 3 dayThese are pretty amazing. Id been using Harbor Freight sanding discs for ages and recently got some Mirka solid sanding discs and was impressed by the improvement. I just saw these mesh discs, also from Mirka and decided to give them a try. I think theyre as much better than the standard solid Mirka discs as those were from my old HF ones. They sand unusually quickly and leave a good finish. The only problem they have is tearing. If I hit a sharp corner with the outer edge of the disc it runs the risk of tearing the disc, which then propagates quickly. Otherwise the grit lasts indefinitely as far as I can tell. Ive always torn one before the grit wore out. Im toying with running a bead of epoxy around the outer edge on the back side so that it wont tear as easily. Im afraid thatll mess with the quality of the work, though.

> 3 dayJust sanded 25 drawer fronts. Impressed on the lack of sanding dust that escaped from around the sander. Did not even have to wear a dust mask which I have always considered mandatory. After going through all grits up to 320, a final wipe down with naphtha found only a little dust. Disks DO last a LOT longer. I would guess 10 to 20 times longer. I normally expect a disk to last through maybe 4 to 6 sq ft. These lasted LOTS LONGER. Highly recommend. Seldom give 5 stars but this product is not only better than expected, it also is well worth the increased cost.
