These mesh discs are great for final finish sanding. Fits on my Festool finish sander... no holes to match pattern for vac system. Mesh also minimizes pigtail swirls.

When used with an adequate vacuum it is nearly dust free. A true relief.

For Mirka sanders, this is the best sandpaper you can buy. Breaths well for good suction. True to grit, fits perfectly, doesnt gum up quickly. However, it does like to tear on sharp edges. Use minimum of 120 grit for initial edgework and this 220 to finish off.

I’ve only used them once or twice, but so far I’m very impressed! If they hold up like I think they will, they’ll be a fantastic value. The mesh allows me to use my vacuum attachment which equals no sawdust flying around! The finish was incredibly smooth. I just bought a 6” pad, so now I’ll be looking at 6” sanding discs, and I’ll go with the same brand.

Because you are using the entire disk to sand with and does not have dust hole pattern with the entire disk being mesh I get much better results and consistency especially in the higher grits. However the dust collection is great along the whole line. I am using a Festool dust collector with a 5” Mirka Ceros and could not be happier.

I didnt realize there is a difference between the regular Abranet which uses aluminum oxide and the Abranet Ace that uses ceramic oxide. The ceramic oxide really keeps cutting for a long time. Oh well, Mirka sanders are excellent and even the regular Abranet is still a good product. FYI, seems like these burn out hook and loop pads on some non-Mirka sanders. You may want to use them with a pad saver.

Abranet is great stuff, even for hand sanding as the dust passes through the grid and can be shaken off the disk.

Mirka Abranet is the best sandpaper, hands down. Whether used on my CEROS or hand-held on turning projects, this stuff performs amazingly well. It doesnt clog nearly as easily as any other competing product and heat build-up is kept to a minimum.

Abranet is a mesh abrasive with thousands of small holes. The distance from each abrasive grit to the nearest dust collection point is only half a millimeter. This provides efficient dust extraction from the entire surface of the abrasive. The open mesh design provides superior dust removal. Abranet"s innovative design allows the use of portable as well as conventional vacuum systems. This product combines high performance with a long lifespan providing a quick, effective and cost-effective alternative to traditional abrasives. Abranet is a revolutionary product for vacuum-assisted sanding operations. Designed for dry sanding by machine or by hand, its dust-free sanding characteristics results in a cleaner work environment, as well as a better surface finish. The new, patented abrasive will fundamentally change your work environment and results in 95% efficient, dust-controlled sanding when used with industry-standard Dust Extraction systems.
