Morakniv Companion Sandvik Stainless Steel Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath, 4.1 Inch

> 24 hourI bought this knife specifically for field dressing deer. For this purpose I favored the plastic (washable) sheath and easy to clean handle. I assumed a $20 knife with a plastic sheath would be a beat it up knife I would sharpen every other time I dressed a deer. However, I am very pleased with the quality. I used it last night to completely debone a deer and it stood up very well scraping bone and skinning hide. Its still quite sharp, which is more than I can say for knives Ive used in the past. PROS: 1.) Marriage of knife and sheath - At first I was skeptical I would approve of the sheaths function, thinking I would prefer a more full proof mechanism (I.e strap) for securing the knife. However, the knife clicks into the sheath firmly and without play. It is also evident the knife is secured while also being very easy to sheath and unsheathe. 2.). Blade sharpness and durability - I did not at all expect this knife to be so sharp out of the box. I didnt even feel the need to hit it with the polishing stone. Also, the thick blade neck and minimal grind produce what appears to be a very durable blade. I highly doubt you could bust a tip of this knife unless you use it as a crow bar. 3.). Handle - Good grip when wet. Nice ergonomics. Color options if you like blaze orange for easy retrieval in the woods. CONS: I havent found any yet. I have not had to sharpen, but I assume it will touch up easily seeing how its 440A stainless (if I recall correctly). This Morakniv is a fantastic buck knife. I wish I had it 15 years ago and I will be buying more as gifts. What more can I say?

> 24 hourDespite the legendary status of Morakniv across the knife market, I was skeptical for no other reason than my need to personally assess its merit. This concept of 4-inch 12C27 blade boasting the ability to chop small tree limbs while also having the finesse to finely filet a fish seemed far-fetched. I can now state with full certainty the reality of the Mora: This knife is everything it claims to be and more. Its more than just a back-up knife, a throw around, or a cheap way to gift a buddy you don’t like that much. It is the real deal. For the price, I am not sure there is anything else on the market worth entertaining before you give this one a shot. Now I know what everyone is talking about.

> 24 hourMorakniv knives do what they are supposed to do at a fraction of the price of other knives. I own several, both carbon steel and stainless. The stainless is maintenance free and great in the kitchen. I use this knife as a paring and general purpose knife in the kitchen and it excels at cleaning fruits and vegetables.

> 24 hourOne of the best knives to have around, and well worth the price. Had one of these for years and only turned it in because I found a knife that fit me a bit better; not because this blade failed me.
