> 3 dayI’ve had my companion for about 3 years now and I wont be found camping without it. If you’re looking for a high quality, strong, reliable knife, look no further. At first, the price seems too good to be true. I’ve carried many knives camping from companies such as SOG, Kershaw, Schrade, and Gerber, all of which I paid more for than this knife. Nothing has been more useful or more durable than the Morakniv, holding a sharp edge through a significant amount of use and abuse. The high carbon blade may gain a patina over time, mine has held up a clean finish with minimal care. The lightweight, plastic sheath fits the knife snugly and has a versatile clip for belts, webbing, or straps. The 3/4 tang has little impact on the balance and strength of the blade and the knife batons small logs with ease. My only issue with the blade is the raw spine, which will not properly strike a ferrocerium fire starter. This can be easily corrected with a bench grinder, if that is important to you. If you buy this knife, you won’t want to go adventuring without it.

> 3 dayI bought this because I wanted to see how my sons could handle a fixed blade knife. The folding kind gives them trouble with the lock sometimes. This knife was so good I ended up buying a few for myself. It comes very sharp, light weight with great blade retention. Cant beat it for the price.

> 3 dayFantastic, super useful knife. The only knife you need out in the woods. Why four stars? Its not a true scandi-grind. It has a tiny secondary bevel. You can easily fix that on a stone, but it should come that way from the factory. Also, the spine is too finished to throw sparks on fire steel. It would cost the less of leave it rough, so I dont see why they dont do that. Otherwise, I love these things and will be buying many more.

> 3 dayThis is my 2nd Mora and my other Mora is the Bushcraft Black. They make excellent knives for the price. Are they Fallkniven, Bark River, or Benchmade knives? No, but you wont find a better knife that is only $15. They come razor sharp and they are very sturdy blades. The Companion is going into my pack to clean fish and some minor bushcrafting chores.

> 3 dayAs a bushcraft instructor and back country guide Ive seen a lot of fancy knives in action. If you enjoy having a fancy knife, get a fancy knife. If you just want a sharp reliable sturdy knife that you dont have to worry about, get this knife, or in fact any mora.

Greater than one weekI prefer the carbon steel model they offer better it holds a edge better and seems a tad sharper. That being said i bought this for fish and hunting as it is stainless u dont have to coat blade with veg oil or gun oil like carbon to precen rust. Id buy both

20-11-2024Appears to be an excellent knife. I wanted a good quality, but affordable knife for backpacking, and a friend of mine suggested I look at Morakniv knives. After browsing through their assorted knives, I settled on this one. I have not had the opportunity to use the knife out in the mountains yet, but am very impressed with it so far. First off, I love the fact that you can get these knives in nice bright colors such as orange, green, or pink. This makes the knife that much easier to locate in my pack, and makes it that much harder to lose in the field. Second, I love the handle. It feels like a textured hard rubber, and holds it grip excellent when wet, which is a neccessity when out backpacking or fishing. Third, this thing came out of the box extremely sharp. I have ordered multiple knives off amazon (Shrades, Bucks, SOGs, etc), and this knife came sharpened better than any Ive bought. No need to put an edge on it before you can try it out. Last, the sheath is great. Its obviously not as aesthetically appealing as a nice leather sheath, but it is bright, durable, and holds the knife very securely. All in all, I am very impressed with this knife. I simply do not believe you could get a better quality backpacking/fishing/hunting/camping knife at this price, and cant imagine anyone regretting purchasing this knife. Definitely recommend!
