Morakniv Companion Sandvik Stainless Steel Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath, 4.1 Inch

> 3 dayWhats awesome - Comfortable grip and is super sharp right out of the package. I also love that unlike most pink tools/hardware/outdoor products, the pink version of this knife is not an inferior version at a higher price. The bright color makes this knife really hard to loose if you set it down while working. Whats not awesome - The sheath only works if you are right-handed. As far as I can tell, Mora doesnt sell a leftie or ambidextrous version of this knife. The only options seem to be either sucking it up and carrying it on the right side, carrying it backwards, or getting a custom sheath for it (most are more expensive than the knife itself, and half the point was having the brightly colored sheath for extra visibility).

> 3 dayHighly recommend this knife! this comes RAZOR sharp and is a very VERY high quality knife. This is a great everyday use knife or even a bushcraft knife. Ive batoned with this, although I wouldnt recommend it, it handled well and holds its edge for a long time.

Greater than one weekI have a new found interest in bushcraft and joined a number of Facebook groups on the subject. I decided that I wanted to get a knife for whittling wood, splitting branches and shaving kindling and generally to feel manly. I searched one group and saw that there were several previous posts where people had enquired about knives and on each post, members ‘in the know’ (from my layman’s perspective), all mentioned Mora. I do have a collection of Swiss Army knives although all are too precious to me to utilise for any useful purpose, other than to pick my teeth after eating meat, scratch my ear holes (the other end of the pick is ideal, albeit rather gruesome), and the scissors to cut cotton wool pads for electronic cigarette wicking material. The Mora knife I purchased here was such a low-cost product, I’d be far more inclined to use it for more substantial purposes. The knife arrived and I must say that I’m delighted. The handle is a rubbery texture and affords a great grip, the sheath is durable although it’s a little cumbersome to pull out the knife and the blade itself is sharper than my wife’s tongue, god bless her. I don’t believe I’ve ever owned a sharp knife like this, it makes my Swiss Army knife (the big one) seem like it’s made of kebab meat. This Mora is quite literally sharp enough to shave with, it’s quite astounding for such a cheap product. I still haven’t managed to go full cave-man with it though, but it’s in my list for the near future. I have no doubt that this will serve me well, I won’t be afraid of damaging it because of the price and it’s likely to get used when we are out in the wilderness of Blighty.
