Morakniv Companion Sandvik Stainless Steel Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath, 4.1 Inch

> 3 dayI really wanted to give it 5 stars, but there are some minor issues. Whats Great: The blade. It came sharp and its easy to keep it that way. I love Sandvik 12c27 steel and have several knives with it. Sandvik steel is great for canoeing/kayaking in the back country since it is extremely rust resistant, and holds an edge well. Sandvik blades can be polished to a mirror-like finish, and this knife is no exception. Whats Good: The Handle. I like the grip and feel reasonably comfortable working with the knife with wet hands. Its very functional and I have no issue with it. Whats ok: The Sheath The sheath accomplishes its primary job, and thats holding the knife securely in place. The knife snaps into the sheath with a little click, and I would actually be comfortable carrying it upside down. What I dont like is the belt clip. Its easy to get the knife on/off your belt, but you run the risk of your knife coming off when sitting down. If the tip of the sheath hits a chair before your butt, the sheath can come right off your belt. It doesnt happen often, but it doesnt matter how good the knife is if you lose it. Overall its a great mid sized cutter, and at under 20 dollars it may be impossible to find a better knife for the price.

> 3 dayHeard about these and gave it a shot. Outstanding quality for an excellent price. Girlfriend tried it in the kitchen and asked me to order more. Keep one in the kitchen, one on the workbench for random jobs, and one in the truck.

> 3 dayNothing special about this knife really. Its a great knife. Solid. Great feel in hand. Scandi grind is something to get used to sharpening. No complaints. Must have for any knife enthusiasts. Every collection needs a mora

Greater than one weekHallo!

Greater than one weekI use this as my go to knife for fishing. Use it mainly for cutting line, bait and bleeding fish. It it sharp and holds its sharpness which I like. What is disappointing to me is that after 8 months it is starting to get a few rust spots. I always wash and dry but do store on the boat which is in saltwater. Not expensive so as long as you consider it as somewhat disposable its a good deal.

> 3 dayFantastic knife out of the box. Very nice and sharp edge. Secure comfortable grip. This is a great general purpose outdoors knife. As a knife it falls somewhere between your best non-serrated steak knife and a more substantial survival type sheath knife. It has a strong blade; yet, it is not over-sized or too thick. It is a good balance between the two. I find it a safe and very effective working knife around camp; but, wouldnt be afraid to put it up to more daunting tasks if needed. It is a sturdy knife; yet, functions well in the camp kitchen. The included sheath functions well. The knife is easy to insert and remove; yet, holds securely. If your typical day hike or camp trip includes cutting cordage, chopping vegetables, cutting cheese for crackers, and opening pesky plastic packaging - this is your knife. If you expect to go toe to toe with Rambo or a saber-tooth tiger on TV for show, look elsewhere. Ive been a avid woodsman/backpacker/mountaineer for over 30 years and finally found my perfect knife - and I have owned many good knifes. At the price I paid, around $15, it is an outstanding value.

> 3 dayBuild quality is fine, but came completely dull except for the very tip. Others have remarked theirs came razor sharp, so Im guessing mine just got missed in the manufacturing/finishing process.

Greater than one weekWith the water-proof plastic sheath, this is a perfect utility knife to keep handy on the boat, you just dont ever have to worry about rust or keeping it dry down there in those wet dark compartments; Small enough to easily stow but big enough for safely tackling tough jobs (tangled ski line, heavy fishing string, etc). Very sharp. Cant beat the price
