> 3 dayPosting for the benefit of adventure riders who might consider packing this tool for an extended ride including off-road. Note, its quite heavy. Dont have an exact weight but its significant and too heavy for my purposes. One website puts the weight at 3.2 pounds, which is probably in the ballpark. Im gearing up for a months-long ride through Africa and Asia and its more weight than Im willing to carry. I count grams pretty zealously for a ride like this, so take that into account. Otherwise, the tool seemed great. Sturdy and appears well designed. Though I returned it, Im giving five stars based on impressions and my experience with other MotionPro products. Ill pack the much lighter, though less functional, Motion Pro 08-001 Chain Breaker, which Ive had good experiences in the past.

> 3 dayIt do be working well for breaking, pressing, and riveting 525 pitch chains. Price is up there but the quality makes it worth the ask. I ride a lot so a good tool is invaluable in my opinion to keep the tires facing the ground. The face of the block doesn’t want to stay in place when you’re pressing the master link together so use grease to hold the link plate to the block and back the tool off as needed to check the pins are aligned with the cutouts in the block or you will end up needing a new link. When you do your master link rivet, be sure not to use too much force. Turn it slowly by hand and once it stops wanting to go further, STOP and check your work with a micrometer or dial caliper.

> 3 dayI love all the different features it has, from compressing, to cutting whatever you need. Very nice case it comes in, small enough to go anywhere. Very durable, you only cry once when you buy quality!

Greater than one weekUsed to install 530 chain on my Kawasaki ZRX 1200. Easy to follow instructions and installed side plate and pressed rivits. Money saving tool for DIY’s.

Greater than one weekWhen I opened the package, all of the threaded bolts were rusted. The bolt that houses the pin was so rusted, the spring would not fall out on its own but had to be pried out. It took about 25 minutes to clean all the threading and re-lubricate. It’s very important that everything is clean and oiled to prevent damage during high torque. The product did come pre-lubed, but it apparently wasn’t affective in preventing rust. Other than that, the tool has been terrific. I’ve broken an OEM 530 chain and the pinhead shows no sign of deformation. It took some convincing, though. Finding the right angle and position can be tricky to break stubborn chains.

> 3 dayamazing tool. Amazing quality and easy to use. The full instructions with pictures of the use of the tool is great! I recommend just doing a quick clean and lube on all the threads on it before use to make sure it works smooth and easy. Used by myself and several friends to break and rivet 5 chains already without any issue. Great product.

Greater than one weekI have had a cheep chain tool from Harbor Freight and it was not even worth the $13 I paid, this is a well made chain tool that is not only easy to use but is well made. I have a 530 chain on one of my bikes and this took took care of it woth out a hitch. It will last a lifetime and do the job well.

Greater than one weekRivet heads should be ground down with a dreamel tool before removal. When using the ball press rivet head with the magnet in the back, I recommend having the pin head either flush or slightly recessed so as not to break the magnet while pressing the rivets out. Tool is super durable and should last many years. Tip, use a digital micrometer to measure how far to press plate on and press rivets out.
