They work

I use this all the time in the woodshop and it works great. I recently made a leather-workers tool holder with 877 holes on a laid-up matrix design. This was a life saver in allowing me to position a brad-point drill for the small holes and a Forstner bit for the large. I had previously purchased a chromed steel auto-center punch looking similar as this without the wooden knob at the end. The mechanism lasted exactly five punches. This one is still going strong.

Used for staking a castle nut on a ar15. Worked flawlessly with a little pressure and 6 or so strikes.

Work fine no problems with the punches.

I used on plastic stone crab traps and on an aluminum flat bar. Neither worked too well. Maybe if you use a 3 or 5 pound hammer but I just used a standard nailing hammer.

This automatic punch tool works well! I have found many uses for it (I mainly use it for marking where to put nails for pictures). I didnt understand how to use the tool at first, as there are no instructions included, but I quickly learned how to use it. It is very easy to use and the pressure can be adjusted.
