Works as intended. Does indeed support VLAN tagging and such as what I was looking for.

We use an Eero mesh router system, however, I wanted a faster connection for our network attached storage (NAS). The Eero only has two eithernet ports and we wanted to have more so we could hardwire our NAS to our TV, media player, etc so there wouldnt be any lag when playing back videos from our NAS. This was a perfect solution and now we are able to hardwire all of our devices to one of our mesh routers.

Easy to connect. Resolved my port problem and with no loss of bandwidth.

Timely arrival, placed in use and serving well. The winter weather has not impacted it so far.

I have a GS308E as distribution switches on each of two floors of the house, with a GS308T at our router. These switches are all durable, reliable and performant. Theyre also quite versatile. The 308E can be configured to handle VLANs, and thats the main feature that led me to use them. About the only complaints I have about the 308E are that (1) the web interface doesnt support HTTPS; and (2) you need to use Google Chrome on Windows to do a firmware update using that web interface. Of course, pretty much all SOHO network devices from Netgear have the first problem. while Ive yet to find any other device from any manufacturer that has the second. Im thinking someone at Netgear owns stock in either Alphabet or Microsoft, because I actually cant figure out how youd get that result if you tried. In other words, it took real mental effort on someones part to cripple this devices firmware in such a peculiar way. Minus one star for that.

Easy to set up and not overpriced switch. Durable build, feel like heavy duty equipment. Very stable even with full load on all ports, few nice features like separate bandwidth limitation for every port and great support comes as a standard.
