Failed after 2 months.

This compact unit is a major component in my new central wiring closet. Being only 11 1/2 long, it installed easily inside the 14 wide in-wall metal cabinet and worked immediately after powering up. The switch simply does its job without hitches or generating heat; just flashes its lights on the active ports. My experience was 5 stars. Only con: None of the ports are POI (Power Over Internet), which I knew before purchasing.

I didnt want to believe all the talk of netgear switches being unreliable...so I bought this switch because the price was attractive. But I deeply regret my purchase now. Its been less than 2 months and the switch just died. No connection to any ethernet port...without any ethernet cable plugged into the switch, the link lights stay on at random, which indicates that its stuck in some sort of weird fault condition...and there is absolutely no way to reset it (no reset button). In this time when people are working from home, you need reliability in your networking products and netgear has proven to be trash.

I had this up and running in 5 minutes. It replaced an older switch that some of my peripherals were having problems with and not working properly. This was an inexpensive, simple solutions and everything is working great.

I always buy netgear for my switching needs. the design is perfect for installations. I never have heating issues. Quality product that you can rely on.

Works as desired.

I power this off of an auxiliary 12v power supply with battery backup (13v actual voltage) for my NVR, cameras and this switch. It works great!
