No wire brackets to mount secondary fan to heatsink radiator... so the fan is USELESS!! $

Great fan and it’s quiet too. This brand has always been reliable (better bearings), efficient at cooling and quieter than the competition, and reasonably priced.

I have a small, 6-can thermoelectric (Peltier) cooler fridge and the original fan was dying on it. I found this as a replacement. It has the same physical dimensions, a greater CFM flow rate, pulls less current and is quieter than the original fan was. A replacement fridge would have cost from ~$40 to $80 and replacing the fan cost $16.95 so, pretty good deal. It came with a 4-pin extension cable. It has rubber mounts at the corners which, Im guessing, help with vibration (noise). Looks exactly like the picture and seems to be a quality piece of gear.

I used this to replace a dead 4 pin CPU fan. This has slightly better specifications than the old one. And since it was a replacement, it just snapped right into the existing fan mounts. Then plugged into the CPU fan header on the motherboard. No more error messages. The fan was installed in an all black anodized aluminum tower case, so aesthetics are not an issue.

I bought this fan as it was one of the only 92mm PWM fans I could find.

Replaced my stock 80mm fan with this one, Noctua NF-A9 PWM, Premium Quiet Fan, 4-Pin (92mm, Brown,12V) in my Dell XPS 8940 desktop computer. Plugged it in, the fan was running slow. Did a diagnostic test in the BIOS. Got a critical error performing initial test indicating my motherboard (chassis) fan was bad. Put my stock fan back in and did the same test...it passed this time. Either I got a faulty fan (doubtful) or the fan doesnt work properly in this computer.

Ive installed three of these fans now on my desktop PC and I have to say they are incredibly high quality across the board. The packaging, the build quality, the included spare parts, the ease of installation, and the cooling effectiveness are all top notch. I installed one as an exhaust fan on the back of my PC and two on my CPU cooler (one pulling and one pushing air) and theyve all worked incredibly well.

The NF-A9 is a highly optimised, premium quality quiet 92mm fan. Featuring Noctua’s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A9 further improves the renowned quiet cooling performance of the award-winning NF-B9. The PWM version sports Noctua’s custom designed NE-FD1 IC for fully automatic speed control via 4-pin fan headers and comes with a Low-Noise-Adaptor to reduce the maximum speed during PWM control from 2000 to 1550rpm. Its superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua’s trusted premium quality make it an elite choice for the highest demands.

AAO frame

Noctua"s AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua"s proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan"s performance/noise efficiency.

Flow Acceleration Channels

The NF-A9 impeller features suction side Flow Acceleration Channels. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, this measure reduces suction side flow separation and thus leads to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.

SSO2 bearing

The NF-A9 features the further optimised second generation of Noctua"s renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

Integrated anti-vibration pads

Integrated anti-vibration pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard screws and other mounting systems.

Scope of delivery

  • NA-RC7 Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A)
  • NA-YC1 4-pin PWM y-cable
  • NA-EC1 30cm extension cable
  • 4x NA-AV1 anti-vibration mounts
  • Fan screws

Inner Surface Microstructures

With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency.
