Greater than one weekMounting issue. When I lay the case flat down horizontally like a HTPC or rack server, the performance is almost as good as my Noctua D15s. Once I shift the case into normal vertical orientation, temperatures went from 63 to 72 degree Celsius real fast (Ive remounted and tested this multiple times). Ive also tested this with the heat pipes facing in every possible direction except for top-to-bottom, as instructed by Noctua. I guess this cooler is more suited towards HTPC chassis such as Fractal Node 304, because performance takes a hit if you use it in a tower case. My theory is that either the concave base loses optimal contact with the processor when positioned in a vertical orientation, or the bent heat pipes have trouble in that configuration, which might also explains the varying results from many different professional reviews on the Internet.

> 3 dayI was a slightly concerned about this fitting with the fan on the TOP of the cooler and still being able to fit in my Hyte Revolt 3 case. It turns out that it fits perfectly. To the millimeter.

> 3 dayI purchased this CPU cooler based on the reputation of the company and other user reviews on multiple sites. It appears to be working well with my high end i7 processor. The fan is super quiet which is a definite plus.

> 3 dayWent through 2 other coolers before landing on this one, returned because they were too large. This was exactly what I was looking for in a mid tower build. Great product!

> 3 dayIf youre dead set in using the Silverstone GD09 HTPC case, then this is the best air cooler you can get. This case doesnt support water-cooling radiators, I think they have a newer case that support it.

> 3 dayfirst time using an after market cooler. my i5-4670k would reach temps around 80 degrees using the stock cooler i had for about 2 years. i just recently upgraded to this cooler, my first observation was how silent it was. considering the unit is much more massive i expected at least a similar sound but its really soft with my tower right next to me. i boot up around +3 degrees from room temp and i peaked 59 degrees a couple times now with a maximum load for me, playing a modern video game with a 1080p60fps stream and a file transfer between my hard drives. looking forward to overclocking

Greater than one weekI wanted a better cooling solution for my gaming / htpc. It is in a Grandia GD08B case. I love the case, but it has a limit if 138mm for heat sinks. I replaced a Noctua cooler with dual 92mm fans, and this C type cooler with a single 140mm fan idles 9 deg C cooler, and is more quiet as well. I would recommend this cooler for anyone that needs a good cooler in a case with limited height. Check your case height requirement to make sure this fits.
