Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2X NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown)

Juste parfait

Checked Noctua’s compatibility chart with specific mode of motherboards. It said that it fit my Gigabyte x299 Designare EX mobo but it does not. The backplate that came with the mounting hardware is not big enough to fit the motherboard. What a waste of time.

It keep my i9 10850k cool

I bought this to replace my DeepCool Castle 360 RGB V2. It performed better at idle on my 5800x and about 2 degrees warmer under load. It was also so much quieter that I went from having jet engines in my room to being able to hear my cat cry for food from downstairs with my door closed. Pretty solid improvement.

Having temperatures above 100 C when playing certain games in VR I had tried 3 other coolers before this one and all of them couldnt lower my temp enough. After some reasearch I found Noctua and I must say its a lot cooler than the rest. Finally my temp are at about 70 C in the same games and about 35 C idle.

Der Noctua NH - D15 kühlt meinen i7 4790k (Takt 4,4 GHZ) (ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO) auf ca. 30°C im Windows-Betrieb. Beim zocken (aufwändige Spiele) erreicht der CPU Temperaturen von ca. 53°. Der CPU-Kühler passt problemlos auf das Mainboard (ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO) mit dem RAM Crucial DIMM 16 GB DDR3-1600 (Ballistix Sport) ohne aufzusetzen. Zu beachten ist, dass das Gehäuse nicht zu klein sein sollte, da der Lüft ziemlich hoch ist.

Used to replace stock Wraith Prism cooler that came with AMD Ryzen 7. Much cooler and quieter than stock cooler. Had difficulty at first getting cooler latched onto the CPU. Found that I didnt have one of the catches fully seated. Fits in Fractal Design Meshify C case (solid side panel, no glass) with MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard with about 0.5 cm to spare. Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM fits under cooler, but have to temporarily remove the front-most fan to access all the slots. Fans can be removed with no tools. NH-D15 was probably overkill for my application. NH-D15S (single fan version) would probably have been sufficient.

to start off with, i play games, i am not a tech geek wanting insane overclocking with max performance or anything of that sort. I just want to be able to play games without my comp processor hitting 60 degrees, which unfortunately happens from time to time since my pc is like 6 years old and i lived in a hot and humid country with temps around 32 degrees.
