> 24 hourTheres a lot of hype around North American Rescue products. They make great stuff, but I have noticed that their vented Hyfin chest seals can get messy when they are stuffed tight for long periods of time in an IFAK (the norm, unfortunately). They become difficult to detach and sometimes the plastic tab breaks off. There is also a loss of uniformity in the gel (gets messy) if they are scrunched up in your bag for a long time. Still very good, but I would keep an open mind and check out H&H Medicals “H*VENT Laminar Vented Chest Seals” which are a superior product in several ways (better vent, gel stays more uniform, easier to detach) even when stuffed in your IFAK.

> 24 hourHope I never have to use this product but my local fire and rescue department relies solely on this brand of chest seal, so that speaks volumes!

> 24 hourIf you dont want to carry a decompression needle or dont know how to use it, this vented bandage is a must have in your first aid kit. It comes with 2 bags, one for the entry wound and the second for the exit wound
