NOW L-lysine 500 mg, 250 Capsules

I have had cold sores for my entire life. I have usually taken only Acyclovir 800mg once a day. With only that, Id get cold sores about once every two to three months. Since Ive been taking L-Lysine 2000 - 3000 mg a day at night, I havent had a cold sore for over 6 months. So, at night, Id take 4 of these and then another 2 in the morning. No issues or side affects. These are capsules and are very easy to swallow. If youre looking to buy L-Lysine, dont get the hard pills, they are very hard and scrape on their way down when taken. Also, When Ive felt sores coming on, I usually take 2 to 4 of these and use Abreva and Acyclovir and bingo, they either dont show up or Ive actually seen the bumps simply go away. I have taken 1000 mg of NOW L-Lysine capsules ever since my accident on Sept. 2012. I am a left handed person and was hit from behind by a kid who was not paying attention to my car stopped at the intersection. The tendon in my back was so badly damaged that I was forced to use my right hand for 7 months (that was no easy feat)! Whatever youre taking Lysine for, these 500 mg CAPSULES by NOW are much smoother and easier to swallow then the 1000 mg. TABLETS. Just take two of these if you want 1000 mg dose; if not, take one. Also these work well for opening the capsule and sprinkling the powder into applesauce or fruit juice if you or a loved one--or pet--cant swallow capsules or tablets. Lysine works well for so many things, especially for preventing Shingles outbreaks, cold sores, or Herpes outbreaks.

We have used L-Lysine for years at the first tingling of an on coming canker soar I take 2 or 3 and never come to a full soar, if I dont catch it right away it starts then gotta keep after the L-Lysine for a couple of days till its goes away it is also very good for your skin I am 72 and I get lots of compliments on my skin.

Be aware you may not get what you think you ordered. Been ordering and taking these for several years as capsules, which have helped to greatly reduce cold sores. Last shipment was tablets instead of capsules even though the pictures here clearly show capsules. Didn’t think it would matter much, but within a week I had a severe cold sore outbreak. The difference in absorption or metabolizing temporarily affected the effectiveness in my case.

I used to get cold sores at least every other month but after discovering l-lysine i have not not got them in six months this is what works for me and i do it every single day 1- 1000mg tab at 12am 1-1000mg tab at 12 pm 1-500mg tab before i brush my teeth when getting ready for work If i am at work 1-500mg tab every 2 hours If i am at home 1-500 mg tab every three hours I am not sure if this is safe (since i have no medical background) but this works for me i was tired of getting cold sores and this really works for me

I gave this to my dog per vets advice. He was on medication which brought down his immune system and caused some other issues. We have since gotten him off the other medication and have been giving him 1000mg/day for 3 weeks and his issues have cleared up. I have also been able to start giving this to our puppy who is having issues as his immune system has not fully developed yet. My puppys issues have cleared up as well within 2 weeks of starting this.
