This has done WONDERS for clearing up my skin! Im a 30 y/o female and have been dealing with some very persistent hormonal acne, particularly tiny white bumps/inflamed pores all over my face. Id tried everything for getting rid of it, short of taking oral medications, and had been to the dermatologist twice, which was no help. This is the ONLY thing that made any difference for me and now I want to tell everyone I know about it. Interesting note: at the time I began taking these pills to treat my acne, I was coincidentally in the middle of an outbreak of hand, foot, mouth disease that I had caught from my toddler. This dried all of my uncomfortable lesions from the virus up within a matter of a couple days! As far as for my facial complexion, I noticed an improvement within about 2 weeks.

I have been taking this for years and not gotten one single cold sore.. where I used to get them all the time.. If you are bothered with constant cold sores this is the remedy for you.. only wish the capsules were a little smaller..

Whatever youre taking Lysine for, these 500 mg CAPSULES by NOW are much smoother and easier to swallow then the 1000 mg. TABLETS. Just take two of these if you want 1000 mg dose; if not, take one. Also these work well for opening the capsule and sprinkling the powder into applesauce or fruit juice if you or a loved one--or pet--cant swallow capsules or tablets. Lysine works well for so many things, especially for preventing Shingles outbreaks, cold sores, or Herpes outbreaks.

I bought these for my husband after reading reviews that they can help to limit the frequency of heroe outbreaks. We are really not sure if they work or not. He takes one pill each day along with Vitamin C and echinacea to boost his immune system. He had began to have much more frequent outbreaks (during a stressful time) so I researched and read quite a few positive things about L-Lysine. It definitely didnt make matters worse so I would recommend these to anyone suffering from symptoms or outbreaks. He seems to be in a phase of much less outbreaks now and still takes the one capsule each day.

Long story short, I’ve been taking this L-lysine for about 8-9 months only once a day and sometimes I’d skip a day when I forgot. I went to the doctor for my bloodwork a little over 4 months ago and it came back that I have high cholesterol. That’s very weird for me because we have no family history of this in my family, I’m a good weight, exercise and eat a pretty healthy and balanced diet. After researching and then calling my doctor with the news, I stopped taking L-lysine because I found that it can raise your bad cholesterol and it should only be taken 3-4 weeks MAX. It’s been a little over 4 months now and I’m happy to say that my cholesterol is now back to normal, the only change I made was I stopped taking the L-lysine supplement. I’m sure it can help people, but I do warn you to only take it for up to a month and then take a long break in between. Hopefully, no one has this happen to them and hopefully I have no permanent damage or issues later on because of it. God bless!

Use this for immune support and boosting for me and my cats. Really helps us all... colds, flu, energy and allergies so duration shorter, recover quicker and can say it saved one of my cats 6 months ago when real sick. She was throwing up, couldnt keep food down and thought I was going to lose her. I increased her dose to three times a day and gave slippery elm 2 times. The combination and a lot of prayers brought her out of whatever was happening and so thankful for this product. A staple in my house and have cats on it from time they are weaned. Helps a lot for me when I am really worn down and helps shorten flu symptoms for me too.

I was sick of paying 17 bucks for the smallest tube Ive ever seen of Abreva to treat my cold sores. I needed another solution and I just searched and searched. Then this amino acid popped up and I gave it a shot. Im very glad I did. I take it ever single day. Ill take 1000 mg everyday and when days that I feel a cold sore coming or a big event Im nervous about is happening Ill take 2-3000 mg for 3 days straight. It works amazing. I would get cold sores one after the other after the other. Maybe one a month. Thats awful and it looks bad. I get maybe 3 a year now more like two and they last very very short amount of time. Now if I actually see a cold sore coming in I will using L lysine plus which is a very inexpensive cold sore medicine along with this. other than that the cold sores are so reduced since taking this that I cant recommend it enough. OH and dont buy the 1000 mg pill is like a horse pill and terrible to try to get down. Get these take two and thank me later.

Been using this for years... NOW is a great, reliable company. I take it occasionally when my body needs it, but mostly use it for rescue cats that need the immunity boost due to various ailments/conditions, including respiratory issues, viruses evidenced by other symptoms, lip blisters, etc. The gelatin capsule is easily separated to release the powder into wet food, liquids, etc. Great price, as well.

My kids and I love this supplement. It seems kind of funny to review something like this since it is simply a staple in our house (and has been for years). My kids and I have a tendency towards canker sores (otherwise known as mouth ulcers). When we are consistently taking this everyday, no canker sores! My teen daughters are not great about consistently taking vitamins every day, but when they begin to develop a canker sore, they start taking L-Lysine and the canker sores go away. My younger daughter has a pretty intense orthodontic appliance in her mouth, which can easily cause sores on her cheeks. I think it is only because of consistently taking L-Lysine that she has been able to make it through this orthodontic process. This supplement is very inexpensive, odorless, and effective. All pros and no cons as far as our household is concerned.
