> 3 dayOverall Im very satisfied with the picture quality, brightness, color, sharpness, and fast refresh rate of this projector. Price wise this is a mid range projector using older DLP technology. The contrast between black and white is not going to compare to a projector that cost 3 to 4 times as much as this. Good Price Quite Built in speaker Bright Bad Poor black and white contrast Poor sound quality Runs hot Im really happy with the projector so far and would buy it again and recommend it to others.

> 3 dayBought this projector lamp went out a month later. Had the projector replaced a year later projector will not stay on after about a minute. Tech support tell you to send the projector back for repair at your expense shipping and all. This is poorly made waste of money. Had a BenQ for years never had this problem, projector still works with the first lamp.

> 3 dayI bought this to replace a four-year-old Optima HD143X 1080p 3000. This has a much better-quality picture than the older one. 4000 lumens versus 3000 lumens, plus this is 4K which the other was not. The other was half the price so I have no complaint on that. This gives a sharper, brighter image. Much better color. This will show a good picture even when there is light in the room. You do not have to be blacked out. I can watch this comfortably even with the overhead lights on. My only problem with optima is that their remotes are not the easiest to navigate. After a few months of using this with no problem, I started having an issue each and every time I turn it on, the picture starts up distorted. All I have to do to correct this is press the HDMI selector button. A minor inconvenience. So far, the picture is incredible. I am happy with this optima. It is well worth the difference in price from the old one. Update: Problem solved. I needed to plug the usb to an electric outlet

Greater than one weekWe just replaced an optoma hd29 darbee and to be honest it had a much better picture. When the brightness is turned way down the screen is still really bright meaning the blacks arent black at all, more of a mushy gray, it seems they try to remedy really lousy black levelby upping the lumens, we set it as best we could using a Ps4, using both netflix lost in space, and YouTubes the late show with stephen colbert. So multiple sources X box as well. it just isnt crisp, and i dont mean out of focus at all i mean just kina dim. If you adjust the contrast up at all to try for a brightish picture then it washes out all the detail in the whites, and if you adjust the contrast low enough to keep details in tue whites it becomes an unnaturally dark picture, for instance the late show is filmed in a studio with professional lighting and such, when adjusted to a decent picture its about like they havr the lights dimmed 50%. We also got on YouTube and tried several different videos to set the contrast and brightness correctly and it just looks sad. Its aimed at a very decent screen,134 inches diagonal, made using carls blackout cloth. No matter how much we fiddle and fuss we just cant get it to look decent, id call it barely acceptable. And im by no means any kind of av snob. It just looks sickly. And the bulb seems bright because if we turn the contrast all the way up it gets really bright. This is super disappointing. I think our next one will b a ben q. Its not like i was expecting the world but its definitely lousy. Also optoma makes / has made hundreds of projectors so they dont seem to specialize in any one model, and there is very little support. Youd think it would come withsome sort of website to help dial it in but the website and support materials look like therefrom 1983. I really think this is a company churning out mediocre products and there isno growth or advancement, think a late 1970s Oldsmobile or buick where they didnt make it better they just did the bare minimum to meet the minimum standards. This is a sad offering. These are the best settings we found to at least get a well produced bright tv show to be tolerable. Again this feels like a very subpar product w/ exaggerated specs just to move a few units, it feels like a dying company that does a lot of everything and nothing well. We are so very disappointed. Heres our best guess for the settings Image mode - Cinema HDR - auto Wall color - off Brightness - negative 11 (-11) Contrast 2 Sharpness doesnt have anyeffect at all, seriously sharpness does nothing at all Gamma 1.8 Brilliant color 5 Color temp standard Hopefully this helps someone a little, we knew this was a budget projector but even with low expectations this still manages to disappoint. Just buy something else. This thing is unworkable. Also there was supposed to be a firmware update, to fix some of the handshake issues etc. We are convinced there is no chance of that actually happening, and were stuck with the garbage they produced. Also there isa good bit of rainbow effect,it wasnt nearly asbad withthe hd 29 darbee i had.

> 3 dayWorks great. Its a good upgrade from my old projector that finally gave out after 3 years of constant use. I have 2 roommates and we all constantly watch shows and movies. My last optima did great, and this one is brighter and better. Def recommend as long as standard HD is all you need not true 4k etc. This projector works great for all my personal visual needs/expectations.

> 3 dayBought for home theater system. Not currently using hdr input due to old AV receiver. Great picture. However had to add an IR repeater to the front of the projector so it would pick up signals bouncing off the screen without having to point the remote straight in the air at the receiver.

> 3 dayIt was a great projector for the 37 days it lasted. The bulb blew out in the middle of a game. It’s rated for 10,000 hrs I think. We haven’t even had it for anywhere near that long. Contacted Amazon support and they won’t do anything because it’s 7 days outside the return window. $800 for 37 days of use, and now we have to deal with the hassle of a manufacturer warranty claim. My advice to all of you, pick another brand that is more durable, and buy from a local shop that will stand behind their products with good service. Wish we had done that.

> 3 dayThis projector was perfect until about 3 weeks ago when it started glitching. Now I have to climb a ladder and do a hard reset on it every time I want to use it. It’s most likely the main power module, and I have not been able to find one online to replace it. It’s a lot of money to spend on something that breaks 3 months into owning it.
