Buying a highly related $270 backpack, I naively thought it would a decent all-arounder. Turns out that its really bad at handling loads heavier than 40+- lbs. Did a 4 days 40 miles loop in the Cascades. First day was bearable, but by the second I had shoulder and neck pain and my skin around both sides of my hips almost started bleeding (see photo). Im not a novice to backpacking, nor am I a thin guy; the load really wasnt that heavy but, the suspension system on this backpack prioritizes ventilation over ergonomics and long-distance hauling ability. There are many great things about it so I might keep it for short, summer time overnight trips - as the ventilation system does work quite well - but would never depend on it for 4-5 days trips.

Using it for overnight hiking. Good pack but it is squeaky.

I use this backpack almost every weekend for many miles of hiking and climbing approaches. It can easily fit multiple climbing ropes, all my gear, food, water, and supplies. The many pockets make it easy to get some organization going and easily pull out specific things later on. The straps are the best in the business, and make a 60 lb load a lot more bearable. It has taken some minor external rips on the outside which I fixed with duct tape. Everything else like straps and zippers have virtually no damage even after scraping against countless rocks and trees. Given the amount of punishment this backpack has endured, Im pretty sure I can expect at least 5-10 years of solid use.

I got a great deal on one of any Best Lists top backpacks. Not ultralight & not meant to be. Designed for comfortably carrying gear for extended backpacking trips, it checks all the boxes. I wanted the AG (Antigravity) suspension/ventilation system specifically in the Osprey line but Im a shopper. Amazon came through but I shopped & waited for a great value. Strongly recommend if not UL committed. And Dueter. Also have the Vario 45+10. Another great Amazon value.

Best pack Ive ever owned and Ive been backpacking for 41 years. Not an ultralight pack but certainly considered a light pack. Great storage. Purchased the Osprey 3L water bladder separately. The anti-gravity system AG provides an exceptional fit. I have the large which is 70L. I downsized from a 95L pack to bring less stuff and shave weight. Im 62 and weigh 205 lbs. I expect to use this pack for the next 5 years. Enjoy!
