Picked this up for a backpacking trip. First time backpacking. Carried about 30-35lbs using the 65L pack over about 25 miles of ground. Pack is absolutely top shelf all the way. Great pocket placement. Intuitive design. Loved the mesh back to keep your back cool. Nothing put praise for this pack. The people I traveled with, all seasoned and salty hikers, had heard of Osprey but never used their stuff. They were also impressed. I would pick up the extra Osprey rain cover for this. It takes up no space, weighs nothing, and totally covers the pack. Its not very expensive, and well worth the addition.

After switching from another backpack, this truly is an anti-gravity pack. It packs well, sits properly on my hips, and allows me to enjoy the hike. Highly recommend!

This pack replaces an old pack with a metal frame from the 1970s, so for me, it is like going from a broken down truck to a Lexus. Watch the video on the product page--I wont even attempt to describe all the various pockets and storage areas on this pack. Its got a place for everything. But my favorite thing about the pack is the design. Empty it weighs about 6 lbs, full it varies, but the hip belt rests on the hips so that your hips are bearing a lot of the weight of the pack, rather than your back and shoulders. It makes the pack feel so much lighter and so doesnt stress your body as much. This pack is intended for use on a weekend up to 7+ days. The sizing of small, medium, large and extra large have nothing to do with the size of the pack but a neck vertebrae to hip line measurement that makes it fit well. Go to the Osprey website to see how to measure and order the corresponding size you need. This is an essential step for enjoying the benefits of this spectacular pack. There is also netting that holds it away from your back and straps that are well-padded and adjustable as well. The hip belt adjusts as well. This pack is guaranteed for the life of the original owner. If anything breaks, they will fix it or replace it. But dont expect to collect on the guarantee anytime soon. This pack is so well made. The Osprey Atmos AG 65 pack is expensive but worth the investment. If you camp out for a few nights instead of staying in a Super 8, youve already paid for it. Five stars without any hesitation.

Great fit. Plenty of room. Lifetime guarantee was the biggest selling point.

Cant wait to trail test this! My wife and I have two hiking backpacks, my old Kelty Red Cloud, which is similar in size and fit to this one, and an external frame pack. Im wholeheartedly a fan of internal frame backpacks--the external frame rubs on my shoulders and doesnt feel nearly as comfortable to carry and wear. But this Osprey has awesome ventilation and molds so nicely to your back that I can tell its going to be a great pack. My one minor complaint about internal packs was the lack of ventilation, and just accepted the fact that my back was going to get really sweaty on any hike. The entire Osprey Atmos pack is open and ventilation with this really awesome system of webbing that will allow airflow back there. The best of both worlds! A well-fit and snug pack, with breathability. Although the Atmos is the mens pack, my wife found that it fit her perfectly, at the right size and shape for her shoulders and hips. Perhaps the womens pack would be an even better fit, but she liked this one. I thought it seemed a little narrow in the shoulders for me, and sits a little higher on my waist than I expected, even with the anti-gravity adjustment all the way up. The antigravity adjustment raises or lowers the shoulder straps to the right comfort height for you. Im not a particular big guy--60 and slim, but I still think this would be a wonderfully comfortable pack to wear, and it has a close profile, so you dont have a huge span protruding out of your back, which is great both for traveling and also for going through tighter trails in the wilderness. All the requisite load lifter straps, adjustments, tighteners, extra hooks and loops cover the bag, with plenty of smartly placed pockets and pouches for stashing and organizing your gear. The sleeping back compartment is spacious and the main compartment also has plenty of room for your gear, for a longer trek. Everything seems sturdy and well made, and completely thought out.

Just received it. I read many reviews on backpacks and this one fit my needs. I am packing it for a long weekend trip and it will handle everything I need to pack. I love how it fits. I hope I feel the same after the trip! After the long weekender, I am planning a week-long trip.

Just returned from a 60 mile, back country Montana trip. Bag was fantastic, comfortable, and breathable. Many adjustments to fine tune fitting. Great storage and organization. Only complaint (which is very common) is the zipper situation, especially on the hip pockets. They are nearly impossible to open and close with one hand, which is frustrating considering these pockets are designed to be accessed with one hand on the go. Other than that, the bag is awesome!
