> 24 hourTo state upfront, I am new the knife making (but looking forward to starting a new hobby). The reasons I purchased from this seller was that the cost was a little cheaper and I felt that it would be easier for me to start with 1/8 thick material. Bars came wrapped in butcher paper. Each bar was straight and I didnt notice any significant gouges. Tip for newbies: For those who dont have a bandsaw or grinder - you can rough in your general shape with a standard hacksaw pretty easily. Edit 1: I was able to heat treat using a buddys oven. No noticeable warping - wahoo! Spent a fair amount of time sanding, but eventually came away with something I was happy with. Finished things off with some simple scales (red oak stock I purchased from HD). Overall, it was a pleased with this steel.

> 24 hourAll 4 pieces of steel in my pack were crooked as a dogs hind leg. I have spent so much time trying to square them up. I dont fully understand the process of getting the flat bars ready for sale, but i know that I expect flat steel. Quality control should be a priority for a product that has american flags stamped all over it. Bring back the quality please!
