> 3 dayI have played Pokémon since red and blue were released in the US and this is now the 6th generation in the main series, a reiteration of the 3rd generation of games, the 23rd or 24th individual title, and somehow I still find myself enjoying this game. Its just like with Heart Gold and Soul Silver; the same basic game with upgraded graphics and all the new Pokémon plus some extra tweaks. The balloon bots are back along with poke-puffs and the P.S.S from X and Y. The map can tell you if youve caught everything on the route youre on and what youve already gotten. Im not a huge fan of the contests so really no opinions on that, from what I have read elsewhere theyre awesome... but I still remember trying to get Milotic... anyone who played the original and got one legitimately should know what I mean. For the TL:DR- Either new to the series or have played Sapphire before, if you like Pokémon its a great game. And its just in time for Chrismahanukwanzicah, or Festivus, or whatever holiday! (And despite what Amazon says, Pichu isnt one of the choices for a starter as far as I could tell)

> 3 dayI havent played a Pokemon title since Pokemon Yellow so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but this game is AWESOME so far. Literally everything I wanted Pokemon to look like when I was a kid. I never played Sapphire, so the whole game is new to me. It has so many familiar kinks from generation 1, but has improved in so many ways. For people that played X and Y, you know what to expect. My only gripes with the series is that its hard to Catch Them All when your inventory is stuck at 6. I understand they only want you to have 6 available pokemon when out in battle, and once you can Fly it becomes much easier, but Id like to a see an on-the-fly inventory storing system thats NOT worse than Borderlands 2 so I can actually collect more at a time when Im out and about. Also, no difficulty settings. I like to slow-pace myself through games, and I have to keep myself from over-leveling too many of my pokemon. Overall, 9.5/10.

> 3 dayI bought Pokemon Omega Ruby for myself, and Alpha Sapphire for my 7-year-old cousin who LOVES Pokemon. My only complaint is that it doesnt have voiceovers. He cant read very well, so he isnt able to follow the storyline, but he loves battling and catching Pokemon. The icons when looking through your inventory and shops helps him out a lot though for resupplying. I noticed several more multiplayer features than the original Pokemon Sapphire, as well as ridiculously enhanced graphics. Great game, and an amazing remake of my own favorite childhood Pokemon game.

> 3 dayI am very happy with this remake. I loved Pokemon as a kid and still do in my adulthood. Alpha Sapphire does a great job retelling the store of the third generation with a nicely updated graphical style from the seventh generation games. There are some new things and enough changes to keep the game fresh, while still staying true to the originals so that a returning player can reminisce and remember the fun times had on their Gameboy Advance years ago. Definitely a great game for new and returning players alike.

> 3 dayTalk about a blast from the past! I have played Pokemon since the first games came out. Red was my first game and every generation gets better and better. Ruby and Sapphire were my favorites back when they came out, then Emerald came out and that became my favorite, since it had new features and some other things I liked. I had read about these back in July of this year, and it made me get a 3DS on the same day they were released! Although it took me like 3 days of nonstop playing to defeat the E4, they seem a lot better than the originals. I did not play X or Y, or Black/White 2 so I was missing a lot of the new things that changed. The Delta episode in this game was amazing. I have only played Omega Ruby, but will play this soon. So if Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald were enjoyable for you, you will like this a lot better!

Greater than one weekFor the beginner, this is a fantastic step into the Pokemon franchise. It has all the characters, creatures, and plots that made me love this series. But for the girl whos played every Pokemon since Pokemon Blue on her grape purple Gameboy Color.. somethings lost. I love this series. I love Pokemon. (My favorite is Psyduck!) Pokemon X and Y got me amped up for this remake, to the point I was jittery waiting for my shipment to arrive at home. I tore this open, breezed through the beginning, and then for the first time, I actually grew so disenchanted that I put this down. Its not a bad game. Its just a remake and thats exactly what it feels like. In comparison to the remake of HeartGold and SoulSilver, which added a smorgasbord of new, exciting content, Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby just prettied things up and took a few steps backward. Remember how they gave us the Berry pots in Black/White and the Berry Farm in X/Y? Yeah, you now get the privilege of once again traveling from route to route to pick and replant berries. Remember how the contests were just animations of your Pokemon making attacks from behind? Same thing. Despite the painstaking process Gamefreak and Nintendo took to do 3D animations of attacks from all sides, contests are EXACTLY what they were before. Remember how annoying it was to travel to Mauville City to change your bike from Acro to Mach? You have to do the same damn thing now. Pokemon Amie, Super Trainer, and PSS were GREAT additions to the franchise, but were they so great that they needed to be included exactly as they were in X/Y? Apparently, Nintendo thought so. We didnt even get any new games with Pokemon Amie! This just screams laziness to me. Character customization, a feature I enjoyed ridiculously, has been removed in its entirety. Why? I feel that the AI is incredibly dumbed down. Ive had no trouble whatsoever with the gym leaders, and Im almost to my eighth badge. I even switched my Pokemon team just to see if the battles would be any more challenging--theyre not. Even the bad guy bosses are ridiculously easy. I understand that this is a childrens game at its core, but one of the reasons Pokemon does so well is because of its long-term fans, who have since entered adulthood. Yes, Im 25, with a job and a house, and I still play Pokemon, but I know Im not the only one. For the price and the time spent waiting for this remake, I expected the same love and care that went into HeartGold and SoulSilver, and FireRed and LeafGreen. This game, though pretty, is nowhere near the quality Ive come to expect from Nintendo.

> 3 dayI have been playing pokemon for god knows how long now, and the games never get old. In fact, sapphire was my favorite game out of the entire collection so far, other than the original blue version, which will always be my first and favorite. Ill admit, I was a little nervous when they made mega evolutions for pokemon, seeing as this is kind of another way to keep the game interesting, but my doubts were unfounded, as the game is as great as ever. Of course, I own Omega Ruby also, but either game is worth the price and is definitely one of the best they have remade. Another cool feature that they added was being able to catch the legendaries from other games, although you cant catch the ones from X or Y. Other than that, i would recommend this game to any pokemon fan out there.
