Ive been a Pokémon fan since Gen 1 and this game is one of best ones in my opinion. The story is immersive, theres plenty of content to play through, and its a visually stunning game overall. I am in love with this game and would love future Pokémon games to be of this caliber. The only things I noticed that irked me were during double battles theres a bit of lag. The frame rate drops noticeably. Also, theres some slow loading time during screen transitions. However, both of these things werent bad enough that it hindered the gameplay so its cool with me. Overall I would definitely recommend this game to old as well as new players. Theres plenty of content and fun to be found in the Alola region.

What’s Hot + Game is done in a full 3D polygonal world + Interesting Story + Graphics + Some unexpected plot twists + Alola Pokemon shake up the type match ups. What’s Not - Slow Load Times - Dropped frame-rates in some battles - Slow pacing - Miss Traveling to gyms - Hordes were removed… - Lack of a true Rival What is it? Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are the newest entries into the Pokemon Franchise. The game takes a new spin on the franchise where you don’t have to travel from gym to gym rather you travel from islands battling Totems and Kahunas. Story: 4.5 This game is basically Pokemon goes Hawaii. The game starts out with you moving to the Alola region with your mom. The young shirtless, intrusive Professor Kukui eventually introduces himself and then you go through your normal tutorial as in all other Pokemon Games. Pokemon Sun / Moon is full of interesting Characters, Vast region to explore, as well as cool new Pokemon. What it lacks in is Pokemon gyms, and a true rival. Graphics: 4.5 This is one of the better looking Nintendo 3DS games, and probably the best looking Pokemon Game to date. The only real downfall is the dropped frames when battles turn intense. Audio: 4.0 This is your typical Pokemon stuff here. You get your usual town battle and route themes w/ your familiar Pokemon Center theme. Still, no voice acting and only Pokemon that says their name is Pikachu (I feel we have graduated from this Game Freak / Nintendo. It is about time we upgrade all the Pokemon cries.) . Replay: 4.5 Pokemon Games typically always have a high replay value due to there is always so much more to do after your finish the main adventure. Pokemon Sun / Moon is no different here. One you finish the game you still can complete the Pokedex, Take part in the Battle Royal, as Battle and trade with friends and strangers alike. Around The Web: 4.7 This game is currently holding a 4.7 on Amazon.com Thoughts Pokemon Sun / Pokemon Moon may not be the best Pokemon Games (at least in my opinion) but they are great in their own right. I found the game to be easy. The difficulty comes when you are trying to fill up the pokedex and you are waiting for that 1 Pokemon to show up and they never do; yeah I’m talking to you Dratini (insert angry emoji). Cut-Scenes, while scarce run long and there is no way to speed them up or skip. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon places Hau as your rival which is a bit disappointing being that he is anything but a rival. He chooses the Pokemon weakest to you at the start of the game, He is way to cheerful and upbeat. Plus he constantly gives you helpful items and heal your Pokemon. He is more of a best friend. I find it hard not to recommend to anyone with a Nintendo 3DS. If you are shopping for a Nintendo and / or Pokemon fan, you can’t go wrong here. Score 22.2 / 25 89

Ive been playing since Red and Blue and Sun/Moon truly stand out as one of the bests in the series. Music is themeatic and colorful, the story is unique and refreshing, and visually the game is a solid improvement from X and Y. A lot of the improvements like ditching HMs, labeling move effectiveness, and the ability to raise IVs are small but greatly remove the annoyances of previous titles. Bringing back clothing customization from X and Y is great and the large amount of options make the experince as a whole much more unique. Z moves feel a lot less broken (Mostly) than a lot of the Mega Evolutions, and add another great element to competitive battles. Game Freak knows its fans and Sun and Moon never feel like a deviation of what has made Pokemon consistently a fun experience for both veterans and newcomers alike.

My new favorite Pokémon title. While Im not going to talk about the plot of Pokémon Sun, I have to briefly admit that I felt zero attachment towards Lillie, Hau, Gladion, Prof. Kukui, my own mother, or literally anyone else that made an appearance in this game. The characters didnt feel very deep, let alone interesting. However, Im not saying the game is bad; I just didnt experience any sort of connection with my family or friends. I really only cared about myself and my Pokémon, who all became the light of my life. I didnt give two craps about the drama going on with Lillies messed up mother, Team Skulls ridiculous but funny antics, the Ultra Beasts, or the island challenge itself. Despite my observation on the blandness of the characters, I absolutely loved the aspect of caring for your Pokémon with the Pokémon Refresh feature that was introduced in this game and its partner, Pokémon Moon. It felt super rewarding to max out the affection meter of each individual Pokémon you caught, especially when it gave your Pokémon EXP. boosts and occasionally made them break status effects or dodge attacks because they love you so much. Im on my second playthrough of this game and am now busy trying to get every Pokémon I own to level 100. I currently have over 200+ hours of gameplay on this save file, but Im still not anywhere near done with my leveling endeavor. Wish me luck!

I grew up playing every pokemon portable & console games since the 90s. I loved the first three gens but didnt really enjoy what came after those (probably because I got older and the new pokemon didnt really look right + the repetativeness of the similar storylines/playstyles). I didnt expect myself to enjoy Pokemon Sun but got it anyway to just check it out. I got this yesterday and OMG I could not get my hands off of my DS (that had been collecting dust for the last few years) for 3 straight hours. I feel like gamefreak really tried hard to add new aspects that make this game more fun and a little different. If you are a pokemon fan, its a must have.

this series of Pokemon game is just not for me I dont like being restricted to the Hawaiian islands I feel kind of claustrophobic I like the feeling of land under my feet and not feeling like the land is sparse. And I really dont understand the trend of Pokemon games almost not having fire Pokemon at all you can literally go through the whole roster of Pokemon and there are less then a hundred fire Pokemon. Whats up with that? We need more fire Pokemon not less.

Ive been playing Pokémon since Pokémon Blue and this is definitely the most fully realized Pokémon world. The cities are larger than ever were towering buildings and some breathtaking interiors. You start on Alola island which is clearly meant to represent one of the Hawaiian islands. I love the usage of the Hawaiian theme in the game. This is the first time I can remember a Pokémon game having such a distinct theme. There is a hula dancing bird and one that looks like a Lei. Im a big fan of Toucannon which has the look that Id wished Archen would have had. Even some of the existing Pokémon like Mirowak have been given a Hawaiian feel, If I have one issue with the graphics its that the camera is fixed which seems a bit archaic. For the longest time I was trying and trying to swing the camera around but tis not meant to be. Long gone are the squatty little game characters replaced by characters that look closer and closer to something youd see in the cartoon. The basic game mechanics remain the same but there are a lot of adjustments and a bit more hand holding. Once you fight a Pokemon creature, from then on the game will let you know whether an attack on the creature will be effective, very effective or ineffective. You no longer have to try and memorize the attack matrix in your head and remember whether a bug attractive is effective against ghost and all the other attack permutations. The game will even let you know how well a Pokémon matches up prior to swapping it in. Kids these days have it so easy. There are a lot of improved features in the game that make life easier. Ive still only scratched the surface of the game at this point being about 15 hours in but so far Im loving it. I cant yet see when any fans of the series would be disappointed in the newest iteration of the game.

I began playing pokemon as a kid and fell in love with it. I stopped playing for many years unfortunately, but picked it back up with Omega Ruby. I followed that with the older Pokemon X, and enjoyed the changes that had come to the series, so naturally I decided to get Sun when it came out. I really enjoy the graphics and gameplay as well as all the new pokemon. There are several new mechanics that were interesting, and some I honestly found mildly annoying. Many of the cutscenes I found a little too long for me, but the change from gyms in every town to the new system were welcome. Overall I have found the game entertaining and, in my opinion, one of the better of the long series.
