My son has been fighting an infection in his leg for months. He went to the Dr. who prescribed an antibiotic and a moisturizing salve to apply directly to the wound. It just did not heal. I remembered when I was a kid my dad applied porters salve to the affected area whenever one of us kids had a problem with something healing or when we had a sliver somewhere. I thought it was worth giving it a shot. After the first application, I could not believe the difference. A week later the wound was completely healed. I will never be without it in my home again.

This ointment has been in my familys medicine cabinets for generations. We use it on small cuts, scrapes, hangnails, bee stings, splinters, etc. Takes pain away and heals quickly. Smells horrible, but the results are phenomenal!

We love this product. Goes back many generations in my family. We use on everything from minor scraps to bruises and even eases the pain of pimples.

My husband introduced me to this salve and I am a convert! We use it for everything - cuts, burns, splinters, whatever. Im amazed at how it draws out splinters especially. Im not a big fan of the smell (it is SUPER strong), but you get over it after a while, after seeing how well it works. Highly recommend! We always keep at least two on hand, one for the house and one in a vehicle, just in case.

My family has been using this for decades and it works better than anything else on the market. First, it takes the pain away almost immediately, especially if you glob it on. Second, it heals cuts, scrapes, minor burns, and skin irritations faster than other products. It also kept wounds from scarring that clearly should have scarred. Yes, it has a strong scent, but that’s hardly an issue when you feel so much better! Pro-tip #1: use a cotton swab or a similar “tool” to put the salve on the wound or bandage: if you use a finger, then eat with that hand even after washing your hands, you will taste it. Pro-tip #2: glob the salve on the wound and kinda squish it in there - it works better if you aren’t stingy with it.

My grandparents used this on every boo boo I had a a kid...splinter?- no digging, just put on Porters and a bandaid and itll draw it out over night. Takes pain away almost immediately on open wounds. Our local pharmacy was the only place I could ever find this and when it closed a few months ago I took to the internet to find some. So glad I can now get it here.

Love Porters always have! I was bitter by a brown Recluse spider last year and my leg got really infected. I put the Porters to it and it drew out all the infection and helped it heal without a scare.

this is the best product on the market! my great grandmother used this and my grandmother. My mom has used it for years. Having 7 children, this product is good for scraps, bruses, burns and just about anything but what is great about it if you have a slever in your skin, it will bring it up to the surface over night. wood/metal/glass it has a drawing agent that brings forien objects to the surface. we are on 6th generation using this product

Stinky but AMAZING! This is the best salve for cuts, bites, scrapes, ingrown nails, everything! Although I haven’t tried it on broken bones. I do usually put a bandaid over it to prevent smearing.

This stuff is amazing. My wifes family has used it for years and converted me. Now I use it every time I have a cut and they heal twice as fast as uncovered cuts. The smell is a bit surprising at first but now I love it because it works so well. It is impossible to find in stores, so it is nice that Amazon sells it.

Porter"s Liniment Salve - Original Formula

History

The George H Rundle Company was founded in 1871 in Piqua, Ohio where they produced the original Liquid Porter’s Pain King Liniment. During the prohibition, The Rundle Company was forced to discontinue their original formula due to the high alcohol content in the liquid liniment. Market demand brought about the creation of Porter’s Pain King Salve in 1916. The salve formula was based off the original liquid version; but the solid form required no alcohol which allowed sales to continue during the prohibition. Rumor has it that the Rundle Company was so confident in the product that they would only accept payment from satisfied customers! The George H Rundle Company went out of business in 1969. At that time W.E Roecker moved the operation to Covington, Ohio where the Roecker family continued to produce the original formula for 52 years. In 2021 the operation was moved to Mechanicsburg, Ohio where the next generation will continue the 105-year tradition.
