Punched through my thick leather belt with ease. Had no problem holding it, I wear size medium gloves if that helps. Gets a 4 star because the brass backing does get indented fairly easy, like deep indents after 2 uses. Not a problem for once in while use though and comes with replacement brass pads

I was torn between buying the individual punches and this all-in-one. Happy I got this one as I dont have to find a punching surface to use it on. Ive used it to punch about 8 holes in leather, the last of which was a heavy leather belt. It worked perfectly. I made sure to follow the advice to place a piece of cardboard behind the leather item to allow the punch to more fully penetrate the leather. Worked really well and the holes are very neat and sharp.

Easy to use, this tool appears to be very well made and professional in every way. Even if you only use this tool irregularly, it will quickly pay for itself. Dont ruin your expensive leatherwear with a make shift hole punch.
