> 3 dayOEM struts were over $50. These are far less money and are strong. Super easy to install even though there arent installation instruction. The metal clip slides up on the part that fits over the ball. Place the new strut end over the ball press on, slide the metal clip down. Voila. Reverse instructions for taking off the old ones.

> 3 dayBought these a month ago for my 10 year old MDX. They’re working great. Not sure how long they’ll last. But they were cheap enough and easy enough to replace. You’ll need a screw driver and some patience.

> 3 dayJust bought an 08 MDX and blown-out hood struts were the first item on the deferred maintenance list. Acura MSRP for _one_ strut is $50 and the local auto parts stores run $25-$35/ea, so a pair for mid-$20s is a fantastic value. I popped the old ones off by hand, no screwdriver prying required, and the new ones popped in quite easily. Literally a 30-second job per side. The new struts are quite strong and lift the hood up on their own once raised about a half-inch. I see some other reviews mentioning that theyre not silent and I cant imagine why they think thats something noteworthy -- popping the hood latch makes more noise, and where is anyone opening their hood that a tiny bit of sound is an issue? Its a simple product. Installs and functions exactly as youd expect.

> 3 dayAfter 8 years of ownership, my MDX hood struts started to fail and wouldnt hold my hood up longer than a minute or two. After finding the OEM replacements were $45 each, I searched Amazon and found these sold as a pair for nearly half the price of one from Acura. I ordered them right away and installed them in less than 5 minutes, including removal of the old ones. They just snap right into place without having to remove any additional hardware. The first few open/close strokes didnt feel too smooth but working them up and down a few times seemed to fix that. Otherwise, they hold the hood up with no worry of it falling and opening and closing the hood feels just like it did when new. Great value over the factory replacement struts!

Greater than one weekI can’t speak to how long they will last, but they appear to be a high quality product that were super easy to install (5 minutes). Support feels solid/safe when the hood is open and the resistance when closing the hood seems “just right.” Highly recommend this to anyone that wants to save a lot of time & money… no skill or experience necessary to install these… if you can install windshield wipers, you can do this too.

> 3 dayOrdered these hoot struts for my 2009 Acura MDX after the original struts began to fail (no longer keeping the hood up), and after hearing the $200+ anticipated charge for the dealership doing the job. Had no difficulties removing the old ones (using a flathead screwdriver) and literally popping in the new ones. Now the hood stays up just like before -- have not had any problems with them since then. Definitely recommended!

> 3 dayThese are awesome. I have a 2009 MDX and while I was checking the oil level a few weeks ago, my wife thought it would be funny to hit the panic button on my spare key which I leave on a hook in my kitchen. Flailed my arms, whacked the old strut which cracked it and caused all of the gas to leak out. I figured it would probably be better and more cost-effective to buy a pair of struts and replace both. Acura wanted $120 to replace both of these. I paid $26 out the door, installed them both in less than 5 minutes (while my keys were nowhere near my wife) and its back to normal. Several YouTube videos out there which will help with installation. I have no complaints at all, theyre very strong and I expect them to last through the remainder of the cars life.
