> 3 dayDirect replacement of my worn +9 year old hood struts on my 11 MDX. Just need a small flat tip screw driver to pop up the metal clips of either end of the hood struts to remove the old and replace with new. Also, double-check to ensure the larger tube is screwed on properly to the bottom threads. Both replacements were a little loose.

> 3 dayTook all of 3 minutes to install and they fit perfectly. A little trick to keep the hood open if both of your current dampers are failing. Use a pair of Vise Grips on one of the dampers, then replace the other. Once one is replaced it will hold the hood up, remove the vise grips and replace that damper.

> 3 dayThe order came quick and the install was just as quick. Popped out the old struts and these snapped in with an issue. Saved $100 on labor cost to install these!

> 3 dayBought these a month ago for my 10 year old MDX. They’re working great. Not sure how long they’ll last. But they were cheap enough and easy enough to replace. You’ll need a screw driver and some patience.

> 3 dayJust bought an 08 MDX and blown-out hood struts were the first item on the deferred maintenance list. Acura MSRP for _one_ strut is $50 and the local auto parts stores run $25-$35/ea, so a pair for mid-$20s is a fantastic value. I popped the old ones off by hand, no screwdriver prying required, and the new ones popped in quite easily. Literally a 30-second job per side. The new struts are quite strong and lift the hood up on their own once raised about a half-inch. I see some other reviews mentioning that theyre not silent and I cant imagine why they think thats something noteworthy -- popping the hood latch makes more noise, and where is anyone opening their hood that a tiny bit of sound is an issue? Its a simple product. Installs and functions exactly as youd expect.

> 3 dayI read the reviews in the description very thoroughly to make sure this item fit in my car, and it definitely does not. I can’t even shut the hood.

> 3 dayWe have a 2010 Acura MDX and the hood would no longer stay open. The hardest part was understanding that you need a smallish flathead screwdriver to release the retainer spring clips on the old struts. Pry up the clip and pop off each end while having someone holding the hood up. Then the new strut just snaps right in. As soon as you replace one strut, that’s enough to keep the hood up.

Greater than one weekIts a fraction of the price and fits my MDX perfect. I only needed 1 tool (a flathead screwdriver) to take the old struts off. Then these popped in place. However, it is a bit noisy (it squeaks/squeals) and isnt as smooth when lifting my hood but it works. Then again, I really dont have my hood open unless Im doing some work to my car. The most important thing is that my hood doesnt drop on my head anymore!
