> 3 dayThis is a great help for soldering up small circuit boards. The base is heavy and and magnets are strong. The flex arms dont stay exactly where you thought you put them - there is a little springback - and at first this was annoying. But after awhile I got comfortable with it & its very effective for me. Minor issues - one of the 4 alligator clips was jammed so it wouldnt rotate, and one of the rubber tubes over the alligator clip teeth broke apart after some use. It would be nice if the manufacturer could include a few inches of hose the purchase. I consider the tool money well spent, though.

> 3 dayIf you do repairs to electrical components, either for a living or as a hobby you’ve probably encountered the struggle of needing the helping hand to hold a component or a wire or multiple wires while you solder a joint or splice a wire. The standard helping hand devices with alligator clips work, but not great. Often, they don’t hold the work piece, are impossible to get set just right or take multiple attempts to get adjusted just the way you want it. QuadHands fixed these little problems and irritations associated with needing a “third hand” when soldering. I’ve been using the magnetic WorkBench recently which has 4 magnetic arms, 2 short 8-inch arms and 2 longer 16-inch flexible arms attached to a magnetic base, so you can easily move them to any position that suits what you’re working on. Additional arms can be purchased from the company however for my soldering needs 4 is usually perfect. The magnetic bases have very strong magnets that don’t move once set into place. The quality of the work bench is evident as soon as you pick up the package. It’s heavy. The steel base weighs over 4 pounds so it’s going to stay put. It’s also made in the USA which is a bonus for me as I prefer quality products built here at home. My typical soldering jobs will consist of soldering micro switches and attaching electric motor wires to sealed terminals for use in submerged fuel environments, so my electrical soldering skills need to be quality. The arms of the QuadHands workbench will hold a component right where you put it. Ok, I’ll admit, most other third hand rigs will do the same once you get them adjusted. The flexibility of the arms on the workbench make a quick set up easy and it stays where you put it ! One of the things I find most difficult is wire splicing. The workbench makes holding two wires side by side for a perfect solder splice easy. The flexible arms stay where you put them, and the alligator clips rotate to achieve the perfect angle and lock into place After using the QuadHands workbench I wish I had one years ago. I could have even used one when I built model cars as a hobby years ago. If you solder for a living or as a hobby or know someone who does this tool is the invaluable tool you never knew you really needed until you try it.
