17-11-2024Great product. I have dyed 2 pairs of faded black jeans to a nice deep black again. Much more affordable than buying new jeans and very easy.

> 3 dayIf i could give this item 0 stars i would. I’ve used rit dye several times in the past but this was definitely not what im used to. It was watery and almost see through. Yes i shook it up very well! Used the hottest water possible and let the item soak in a large bucket where there was plenty of room. Buyer beware!

> 3 dayI used these to dye some wool fabric on a chair. I wanted it to make a light gray fabric turn to black. It worked ok, but even after using three whole bottles of this stuff, the chair still came out a light charcoal colored rather than black. I did all the stuff to set the color with vinegar, heat, Retayne, etc. This stuff just isnt industrial strength, so it doesnt create a true black, or even close to it.

> 3 dayBought black, followed the instructions to the T. 100% all white cotton dress is now purple. I’m a little confused as I bought black? Luckily, I bought another brand of black dye as a back up, hopefully it can turn my clothes the color (black) I want.

> 3 dayI originally bought one bottle and it wasn’t enough for my jeans. If you want the blackest color you will need 3 bottles of it. Simmer on the stove for 3 hours and the jeans look brand new.

> 3 dayUsed all three bottles at once on a 3 pack of new cotton white t shirts. Got lots of colors but nothing black. Got green, gray, blue, and purple out of the wash and these shirts were soaked first per the instructions

> 3 daybought this twice to fix some bleach stains on a black t-shirt and revamp some worn out black clothes. followed the directions on the bottle, the first time in a tub with boiling hot water sitting for hours and the second time painting on the pure color over the stains letting it sit and dry before stove dying them, even added in a white cotton shirt for good measure and testing purposes, nothing had any effect. the white shirt tie-dyed, the black clothes didnt hold any of the new color and it didnt even make a dent in the bleach stains.

21-11-2024BOOM; its black now. All three bottles, three gallons of water, one pair of hand-sewn linen pants that failed to get a decent color from local black walnuts. I cant remember, I may have scoured the pants with washing soda. Cooked for a couple hours on simmer; let cool in the dye bath for another hour or two for good measure. And before rinsing, I sprayed them down with the RIT color fixer. Solid, unyielding, black. Couldnt be happier.
