> 3 dayBOOM; its black now. All three bottles, three gallons of water, one pair of hand-sewn linen pants that failed to get a decent color from local black walnuts. I cant remember, I may have scoured the pants with washing soda. Cooked for a couple hours on simmer; let cool in the dye bath for another hour or two for good measure. And before rinsing, I sprayed them down with the RIT color fixer. Solid, unyielding, black. Couldnt be happier.

> 3 dayTakes a lot more dye than bottle indicates. Even to make my blacks look blacker.

Greater than one weekTook advice from previous reviews. I presoaked the jeans (90% cotton 10% spandex) in hot water, used 5 gallons of boiling water, dissolved 1C salt in boiling water, added half water to tote, added 1 bottle of ink, stir, added pants, added remaining water and additional 1/2 bottle of ink, stirred and made sure the jeans were fully submerged in the solution and let sit for 12 hours. Rinsed with hot water in the sink and finished with a normal wash and dry cycle. Very happy with the results!

> 3 dayI ordered this and received 3, 1oz powder packs instead of 3, 8oz liquids. It was enough to do 4 shirts. Needless to say, its being returned.
