Greater than one weekOne of the LEDs is already starting to discolor and I haven’t had this product for more than a month. All other features are great, but discoloration this early is disheartening.

Greater than one weekThe keyboard is very nice and Ive had it for about 2-3 months now. Ive been able to switch between my laptop and my ipad when Im typing notes for class easily and it doesnt take a lot of desk space as I currently have a small desk so that was a big plus. However, when I play video games with my friends, Ive noticed the keys occasionally get stuck. For example, when I go on minecraft, I will press on the A key to go to the left and then i remove my finger but Im still moving to the left. It will only stop, once I press on the key again. I also have tried to download the software for this keyboard to see if there was a way to fix things through it and upon opening the program, I am given a screen that says no gaming device found and then the program closes. I try again assuming I downloaded the wrong one, but to no avail, it still will not work. I do recall reading reviews warning me that the keyboard isnt great or some other con and that I shouldnt buy it, but I ignored them and now here I am writing my review. If anything, this keyboard is great for typing up notes, but when it comes to gaming, I dont recommend too much unless you dont have the keys getting stuck problem, but even then, it might be a risk if you buy it and end up getting that problem later. Im now looking into other keyboards and will probably just sell this keyboard to a college student in my city who may be more interested in using it only for typing and not gaming as well.

> 3 dayUpdated (October 2022) - the seller reached out to to offer a warranty replacement / refund, so I’ve updated my overall rating to reflect my experience with the keyboard prior to when the ‘A’ key stopped working. I also pulled the keyboard apart to see if I could identify the issue causing the ‘A’ key to not work. There appears to be a broken solder joint on the component that contacts the switch. - - - - - - - - - - Original Review - - - - - - - - - - - As much as Id like to recommend this keyboard due to the combination of price & features, Id strongly consider another make & model instead. I purchased this keyboard in January 2022 and used it daily for both work & personal use until the A key spontaneously stopped working in September 2022. Swapping in a known good switch did not resolve the problem and the switch that was installed in the A key position works fine in other positions. Based on this, Id guess a component came unsoldered from the PCB or something similar. I contacted the product support link that Amazon has attached to my order, but they informed me they are a RK reseller, not the manufacturer. And evidently they werent the seller for my Amazon order, so they cant provide support... Absent of the spontaneous failure, Id probably rate this as a 4-star keyboard. Since it broke in such a short amount of time, and I cant get product support, I cant rate it anything higher than 1-star. Unfortunately it looks like this one is just going to end up in the electronics recycling pile. PROS - Supports BT, 2.4GHz wireless (with USB-A dongle) or USB-C wired connection - Supports multiple BT devices (easily switch between them with a key combo) - Supports Windows & Mac - Battery powered allows for fully wireless use - Compact size makes it easy to transport - Red switches have a nice feel & sound - LED lighting & effects are a nice-to-have feature CONS - The keyboard is pretty tall and can be uncomfortable without a wrist rest - Battery life isnt great, especially when LED effects are used - Difficult to find working firmware updates / software from Royal Kludge - The key combos for changing functionality arent fully documented in the manual (or on-line) - Manufacturer website / product support is difficult (impossible?) to find - Product durability is sub-par (my A key quit working after ~9 months)

> 3 dayThis keyboard was great for a long time. I bought a little over 6 months ago and have since lubed the switches (Gateron Browns) and even swapped out the keycaps to a sweet vintage looking pbt set. Now right off the bat the performance of this keyboard is great while plugged in, no issues at all. I dont mind really having to use the function keys to use the arrow keys at all. The problem was when i try to use bluetooth. I really imagined this as the perfect keyboard for me to take on the go to do some programming for games at coffee shops to switch between my ipad pro and my laptop seamlessly. And it was that for some time (though never at an actual coffee shop for obvious reasons). Bluetooth would connect easily enough and switching between devices was a breeze. And then one day, it didnt. Just out of the blue one day it stopped connecting to bluetooth. I cant even get into bluetooth settings where the keyboard flashed red to signal that you are switching between different bluetooth devices. Every once in a while it would magically work again, which would make me think that I did something wrong and accidentally hit a combo of keys that disabled it. However after using software that (i had to hunt down on the internet for by the way) it not work. Now the bluetooth is completely shot and unusable. This is really dissappointing because I loved this keyboard and I want to love it again but I just doesnt do what I need to do. I cannot recommend this keyboard, I would just get the purely wired one for less money. unfortunately I now have to shell out money to pay for a more expensive keyboard that works. Royal Kludge if youre hearing this, please fix this and Ill update the review.

> 3 dayI got this because I am tired of using my regular laptop keyboard with hard to press keys. It was the most affordable keyboard I could find and it is bluetooth. I have a MacBook so it does not have any USB ports on it so I have to filter out everything else adn this beautiful keyboard jsut spoke to me. It is really bright when it comes to RGB and it is hot swap. They switches are a little loud but tolerable. The lights are so customizable and you can change the speed, mode, and you can change the color of them to your choice and it is amazing. The switches sound high quality, I got the blue switches. It increased my productivity and skills in video games and I am really thankful for that. Overall, best budget friendly keyboard on the market.

> 3 dayTo conclude, the Royal Kludge RK61, in my opinion, is one of the best budget alternatives to the popular Anne Pro 2 when it comes to 60% compact keyboards. The layer implementation on this keyboard is very well thought off with a combination of both activating each layer and toggling it using the FN key which makes transitioning to this compact form factor much easier for beginners. The typing experience, for the most part, is very good with the RK red switch having a smooth up and down travel, my only issue is with the quite rattly spacebar. Gaming performance is also pretty decent in both wired and wireless mode since NKRO works properly on both. Although I had some issues with Bluetooth connectivity on one of my 2 RK61, the one that I’ve been using for months now as a backup keyboard works flawlessly without any perceivable latency which is very vital. The battery endurance is also quite substantial with power-saving mode. Overall, there’s not much to complain about this keyboard and for its price, I don’t think there’s any reason not to get it if you’re looking for the best budget 60% compact keyboard.

Greater than one weekThis board is a bit too narrow for me, but I got exactly what I paid for. Works well, no complaints.

> 3 dayYou cant go wrong with this gaming advantage. I use a full size gaming pad 36 x 12 and needed a smaller keyboard (61 keys) to handle a 360 turn in my games while using full arm/wrist actions. This makes the grade. The keyboard is molded with a gradual rise to offer the perfect height to take the weight off my keyboard wrist. Quality construction with good weight and durability. The keyboard comes with the ability to connect via bluetooth or wired (bluetooth dongle included). Wired mode is best recommended set up to enjoy a noticeable, in-game response time. Hot swappable red switches (for extra fast reaction time) with extra keys and a key extractor come with it. Coiled power cable for keyboard movement and placement. RGB function keys with instructions are enclosed to apply your own personal, customized lighting pattern. Ive used it for a month now and it does everything as advertised. I recommend this as the best buy to go for a gaming upgrade when you need extra space on your computer or gaming desktop. Game on!

> 3 dayMy 10 yr old is obsessed with key boards. He does his re search and even has some great expensive high quality key boards I have purchased for him. This is by far his favorite. He has changed the keys on it but for preference in color and sound. He loves this keyboard better than his 300 dollar one.
