I have had one for the past 10 years, it lives in the bed of my truck in the rain, snow, and sun. I took it apart one time about 3 years ago to grease the internal parts, but other than that it has just worked!

I needed to pull together two steel supports that had spread apart and are now beyond my ability as I am OLD and weak. I hooked up the rope ratchet and was able to get it done perfectly!
