> 3 dayI would like it if it had the option of a closed end so that I could use it for more things. I will be using it as a safety for roofing since the real ones are so expensive.

Greater than one weekGot these to secure stuff on top of our Van, on the rack - to allow for more room in the back for our daughters expensive disability equipment, for a road trip we were taking. They arrived, with the hooks UNATTACHED to the rope ends. I dont know about other people, but we werent in girl scouts, and never had to learn tight, special knots. We tied them as tight as we could and it was pretty easy to use otherwise - however, two hours into our trip the rope came untied and our stuff came loose! Fortunately we didnt lose any of it - but I am returning them - because I cant rely on them to be secure enough. They should have came ready to use and tied by a professional and the rope fused to the hooks already, to be tight and secure!

> 3 dayIve always used ratchet straps to secure loads but Im a cheapskate and tend to buy cheap straps that jam easily. I found one of these rope ratchets in the dollar bin at a thrift store and picked it up. Now Im here on Amazon to buy some more to replace my ratchet straps. This is a clever design, its a ratcheting pulley that is designed so that the wheel of the pulley grips the rope and prevents it from slipping back through the body of the device. It is easy and quick to use since you simply pull it snug, there is no manual ratchet to operate. The only downside I see is that the snugness of the rope depends on your own strength since you dont have the mechanical advantage of a ratchet lever to snug it up. It releases easily with a push of a lever and doesnt seem prone to jamming like my cheapie ratchet straps. Ill buy more for sure.
