Ordinarily I do not take the time to write reviews, I do how ever read them. I am writing this one because of the rather negative feedback I read about the product before I bought the product. My opinion is that it does what it says it does and it does it well. I am on my 48 conversion of a variety of old LPs going back to the 60s that I bought new in the 60s (yeah I am that old). I bought it because it was the only reasonably priced conversion box that is specifically designed to plug into my upscale stereo system (I was not going to rebuy a USB turntable). I hooked it up loaded the software and stumbled a bit getting sound while recording, I had forgotten all the hidden bells and switches in Windows. I am currently recording a clicky LP now. After capturing a few minutes I turned on the clean button and set the click only almost to the highest level and poof no clicks (the sound presence is a bit muffled but better than not having the music to listen to.)

Easy to learn how to use, this product has provided my husband with many hours of enjoyment converting his closet of albums to MP3

Im using my device to convert old records into digital format for my iPod. I was planning on using my laptop to accompolish this, however, when I run the laptop on AC the power unit makes a hum noise in the recording. This required that I use my desktop machine. The process is simple to use and does a nice job.

This product does not record things in the proper sequence.....scrambles everything in whatever order it wants to....duplicate records different pieces of different tracks....puts spaces in the wrong places....leaves out spaces where they belong. The music ID is horrid....it hasnt got very many right....its giving Jimmy Hendrix names to my jazz albums....most of the artists ive never heard of. Dont waste your money....ive spent too many hours wasting time trying to get it to work....why dont these manufacturers work out the bugs before putting things like this on the market!

I love Roxio Lp to Mp3. After reading the above reviews, I find I may have less expectations of the product, however, than they. I read one where the reviewer reported that it scrambles info. It hasnt with me. I dont like the fact that the program sends info to my music in my computer as a folder for each artist. I mainly got this program to digitize my promotional dj material, mostly big singles or compilations/remix services. It is a bit of a pain to have it make a folder for each artist when the song is part of a various artists compilation, or if its a single track by an artist. Its a small price to pay though. I generally have to create a folder(s) to my own custom specs, after the fact of recording it and such. The sound quality is good for the most part. I havent noticed any way to clean up pops and clicks with the program, which isnt a huge problem for me, except in some dire situation when the original source vinyl has an overpowering click/pop that detracts from the listening or is so loud a pop that it red-lines my mixer v.u.In those cases I would really like to have the clean up feature; otherwise id leave it the way it is..Too much cleanup can ruin the essence of the original audio..leaving it super-compressed and leveled/flat sounding as far as equalization is concerned. Overall I love the program.

Ive installed the product on a Windows 7 system and tried recording an LP through the USB port. When I do that it seems to think that the usb port is a speaker because I can hear the PC noises through a headphone attached to the Roxio Audio Capture box. There is no sound from the resulting MP3 file that should have been the captured song. The other problem is that this seems to turn off my speakers all together. Im going to try to connect through the sound card, instead of USB and see how that goes. If that fails I have a Windows XP system and I may try to install there. After reading other reviews here I wont even bother with Roxio support....

Product key that came with software does not work. Roxio technical support provided a new key, and that does not work either. Like pulling teeth to be able to use the product I paid for a month ago.

I find that if I have a choice, a Roxio product will out perform the competition. When it comes to conversion DVD/CD software I buy Roxio because they have consistently been a reliable in the past. This package I bought to transfer some old rehearsal tapes to Mp3s so I could play them on newer equipment; i.e. without a tape player. For the most part, it was able to distinguish breaks in my recordings with little editing. I am sure that it will work well on old store bought cassette tapes.

After reading all of the reviews, I bought this product, knowing from the negative reviews it might be somewhat complicated. When I first tried the product, I saw how some users might complain. This is a very good product and comes with an entire suite of software. I stumbled until I learned all the hows and whys. In the end, there are very few limits to what can be accomplished using this product.
