This worksgreat. If you are not handy with home plumbing, however, you may need to hire someone to install it. Not that it is hard, but its not the project to start out your career with. Once it is in, your sand-from-the-well problems stop. Your faucets will thank you!

Initially the incorrect part was sent, however, I reorder and the correct part was sent in a few days.

Im on a well system and this does a good job of filtering out the sand. Im using it outside to filter the water on a hose so that I can use the sprayer and sprinklers without them clogging up. Im confident enough to use this filtered waster to wash the car. The drain make it easy to dump the sand periodically. Nice product and I plan to add one to my house as a pre screen to my whole house filter.

After horrible experience with a twistiiclean filter, I finally replaced with this Rusco filter. Its very well constructed; you can tell the minute you pick it up. Unlike other filters requiring disassembly for cleaning, the flush valve at the bottom is super convenient! 5 stars! TIP: I recommend getting an 90-degree elbow fitting for the bottom and attaching a short hose so that the water goes where you want it when you flush the filter.

All well water systems with possibility of sand or other particle intrusion should be fitted with one of these. These simple and easy to clean filters will protect any water treatment equipment and plumbing systems from damage...especially here in Florida where many wells have problems with sand or rust flakes from the well casing. I use them on all of my well water installations.

Works well and doesnt seem to have a big impact on flow rate. Easy to clean. I used to stop sediment in well from clogging irrigation system zone valves. No issues since installation.

Seems to work fine. I drain it one time a week. I don`t know why I need more words. How long can you talk about a filter.

Filter is working fine. Easy to install. Easy to clean. Saves from buying replaceable cartridges.

Concept good, but requires manual clearing. Spinning throws heavy contaminants outward where they sink to the bottom. Lighter material clings to the screen and clogs pores. One I bought had its cartridge screwed on too tight--could not remove to clean except with extreme force of pipe wrench & hammer(light tapping on wrench). If impurities at low enough level that could be handled by a disposable cartridge, this device could extend cartridge life, but if impurities are high then the frequent manual flushes and cleaning can be impractical. A backwashable filter would be preferable in those cases. Will clog with light silt and or fine sand requiring periodic disassembly and cleaning. If particles are coarse sand or larger, this is fine. Otherwise too much manual cleaning and pressure loss.

The picture clearly shows the unit with the purge valve. The box shows the unit with the purge valve. The instructions show the unit with a purge valve. And the parts list lists the purge valve. The Rusco Spin Down Separator I received did not come with the purge valve so I had to make a special trip into town to the hardware store to buy the purge valve -- for $4.59. This is not right.
