Greater than one weekMy employer recently swapped out my Windows 7-based VPN laptop, which was an HP ProBook with a newer HP EliteBook with iGel on it. The ProBook had four total USB ports, two on each side. I used three of them: one for a Yubi key, and two on the right side for a KVM hookup for mouse and keyboard. The EliteBook only has TWO USB ports, one on each side + a USB-C which is useless to me. I had no good way to use my KVM cables anymore, so I tried this hub from Sabrent. WORKS GREAT! I have a two-port KVM hooked to it, which runs my Microsoft Ergonomic Natural 4000 keyboard as well as a Logitech G502 mouse. It is a bit more desktop clutter now, but I can deal with that in favor of being able to use my original peripherals for long VPN sessions for work. The hub DOES NOT get warm, and thats after two hours of use. The light glow for each port is very unobtrusive and doesnt bother me. Only thing which I do a bit different is I often times will put the laptop into Sleep mode (it has a write-protected drive for security purposes) so my wifi and display settings dont get erased. The USB hub stays powered, so to prevent it from draining the laptop battery in sleep mode I just press the two buttons to turn off those ports and Ive had no issues so far with coming back to a dead battery.

> 3 dayMy new laptop has only two usb ports so it was a constant struggle to use a mouse, camera and headphones together. This hub works fine when I use it for my mouse and headphones, but the camera begins to flicker when I have headphones plugged in as well. To be fair it was problem with my old hub as well.

> 3 dayMy laptop only had 2 USB ports and this thing has been great. The only issue is that I wouldnt use it for something that needs to be removed a lot. Like the small USBs that come with a mouse. When I pull it out, it feels like the port might break if I do it too often. I ended up buying a different mouse for my other laptop instead.

> 3 dayI liked it a lot its a really good add on to my set up but the cord attached to it is pretty small and you cant pot it very far away, some of ym cords didnt reach it but i found a good work around

> 3 dayAlthough my recliner has a builtin USB charging port, my phone and my Kindle require different cords. I had to switch cords according to which device needed charging. All too frequently both of them did. So I finally decided to get an inexpensive USB hub. This one appeared to be adequate. Its basically worked fine. Its well worth four stars. Its sturdy enough to hang from the recliners port and keep the two cords plugged into. I was a bit disappointed when I had both devices charging at the same time--it took a lot longer than charging just one device without the hub--but I realize now that would probably be a problem with any hub. When I turn three ports off when charging one device, its reasonably fast. So no complaints there. Should I ever need to replace this (assuming that it lasts a reasonable length of time) I would gladly buy another of these.

> 3 daySeriously. I bought this nine years ago, and it still works great. The USB on the side of my laptop is getting funky, constantly making my laptop chime when the external hard drive is bumped the wrong way. I think the USB port is loose inside my laptop. So I pulled the external hub from where Id stored it, plugged it in, and havent had a problem since. I bought this USB hub in 2013 when I had to do a lot of road trips, and for nine bucks (back then it was $6.99 but you have to factor in inflation) its well worth it.

> 3 dayThis the second one I bought because it’s a good quality for the price. And I travel with my laptop that has one USB port so I can add devices easily and & I like that I can turn them off/on when needed. And I like that the cord is shorter so it can sit directly next to my laptop.
