Easy to install and works so fast.

Used it for ps4 replacement. Works great, someone mentioned it in review before, its a bit slimmer so when installing you have to make sure the holes for the screw line up otherwise good to go

once the cache fills up (i notice around 40gb file size) the write speed slows down to the speed of a typical hard drive. get the evo instead

These are excellent drives!

First the advertised claims are completely false. You can’t just install the SATA drive and turn it on. The drive comes unformatted so your PC won’t even recognize it exists. There are NO instructions regarding this.

So far happy with the improved performance. The data transfer software that Samsung recommended didnt work the way I wanted, but I was able to use the free version of Macrium to get the job done. I am a little disappointed that the Samsung warranty is only 3 years compared to 5 years for many of the alternative choices.

Using Samsung Magician, the read speed initially met the quoted speed, but over time it slightly decreased (sequential: 560 -> 537, Random : 67138 -> 43457). Write speed initially met the quoted speed, but drastically reduced over time (Sequential: 528 -> 77, Random: 53466 -> 19287). Guessing individual example would be different due to hardware differences. Overall it improves my experience with all program loads, its way faster than a tradition hard drive.
