SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB NVMe M.2 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, V-NAND Technology, Storage and Memory Expansion for Gaming, Graphics w/ Heat Control, Max Speed, MZ-V7S1T0B/AM

Just rebuilt my 10 year old desktop. AMD 3700X, ASUS TUF X570 with 32 GB Crucial and Samsung EVO PLUS 1TB. Its a rocket ship.

Used this to replace small default NVME drive in Lenovo Flex 5.

Installed with a Ryzen 7 3800x on a Gigabyte x570 Gaming X MB. The Gigabyte MB delivers on the capability to attach the NVMe interface directly to the processor chip via 4 lanes of PCIe. I am running a Fedora 31 system. Using the standard disk utility benchmark feature I get a read performance of 3.5GB/s over 100 10MB reads and .02msec access time over 1000 samples. For comparison my SATA WD Black delivers 147.8 MB/s and 15.52 msec access time.

Replaced a slower 500GB drive on a15 HP spectre 360. The installation was super easy. Used a Vantec external usb case along with the free Samsung migration software. I failed to include the recovery partition initially, but super easy to resolve that issue by clicking on all source partitions and rerunning the data transfer.
