> 24 hourFor DL data sets. MSI Z690-P board came with standoffs and screws for M.2 sockets, the 980 had none, just the SSD with heatsink. I plugged it in, secured it with the screw, booted the system (Win 11), initialized the SSD, added a volume, and was done. Winsat showed 3716 MB/s random read, 7143 MB/s sequential read, 2306 MB/s sequential write, about 10 times faster than my older Crucial SATA SSD. Im very satisfied. Heatsink made sense, based on previous experience with a Mac SSD; there are inexpensive 3rd party heat sinks, but I opted for the Samsung built-in one.

> 24 hourI wanted to get the newest Samsung evo 990 pro, but my board does T support pci 5. So I got the 980 pro instead. I have a few 980 pros in my gigabyte z590 aorus ultra and can’t complain. Boot up speeds are awesome, gaming performance is also amazing. Can’t complain and I got this 2tb drive on sale I paid 289 with taxes for my 1tb almost a year and a half ago. This one was 195 with taxes. Very happy!

> 24 hourBeen using it for a few hours, great performance and fast data transfer. It doesnt include the screw for securing it to the MoBo so thats something to consider. I am happy with the purchase, and will probably buy another one unless some issue comes up these first days.

> 24 hourAs a consumer of the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD, I have experienced both positive and negative aspects of this product. Firstly, I recorded impressive read and write speeds of 2244 MB/s and 2180 MB/s respectively using an external ACASIS 40Gbps NVMe Enclosure. However, I noticed that the temperatures of the drive can get up to 39-40 degrees Celsius, which has been a concern for some users.

> 24 hourI had a learning curve cloning my internal SSD boot drive onto this one but it ultimately worked great.

> 24 hourI bought this M.2 SSD to replace a regular SSD in a computer I built 5 years ago. Apparently I saved every screw except the M.2 one, if one was even included with the case/motherboard in the first place. I assumed this SSD would come with a screw but I was wrong. To install the M.2 SSD, I had to wait and order a $5 bag of screws just to get one tiny M.2 screw which probably costs less than a cent. Nowhere on the product listing did it advise that it doesnt come with a screw. Samsung should include a screw in the box to prevent people from shooting themselves in the foot. If it came with the screw, I would have given it 5 stars. The M.2 SSD seems to be working properly so far but the installation experience wasnt great.
