> 3 dayI bought the 2TB 980 PRO for my new PC build (specs below). It is used for gaming and video/photo editing programs. It is ultra-fast when playing games and generating content. However, it does not reach its advertised speed of 7000 MB/s. My SSD was reaching between 6700-6800 MB/s.

> 3 dayHighly recommended, but due to this SSDs heatsink, make sure your PC has the clearance to accommodate it, and also to ensure proper airflow. If you can afford it, I recommend the top-of-the-line Samsung 990 Pro version of this with a heatsink. Heard this SSD is strongly recommended for the PS5 & the newest generation of desktop & mini PCs that support PCIe 4.0 NVMe/M.2 2280 format SSDs.

> 3 dayI have to replace my old Samsung 850 Pro NVME. Over four years it served me very well but it was getting old and slowed down my computer. After install new 980 Pro, my computer getting fresh and younger like new blood in the system. Now my computer is blazing fast again! I really like it comes with heat sink so I dont need to add third party heat sink like old one. But I wonder why Fakespot review gave it so low review rate? I saw may times Fakespot review rates are very low for most of Samsung products. I really dont understand.

> 3 dayThe SSD works great. As I said on title the read speed, according to the PS5, is in the 5500MB/s so it is good enough but nowhere near the advertised 7000MB/s. Maybe that speed can be achieved on a PC? Who knows but it works fine. Combined with a heatsink now my PS5 has triple the storage capacity!

> 3 dayIve been using Samsung drives in my main build for 6+ years now and never had a failure. This drive should be no different. I downloaded Samsung magician and made sure it shipped with the latest firmware. Runs a little warm under my motherboard heat spreader, but that seems normal for gen 4 drives without active cooling.

> 3 daySamsung is synonymous to high quality so the drive itself needs no introduction. Just make sure you are giving it appropriate cooling depending on what you want to install it on. In a high airflow desktop PC with ample space to dissipate heat, it wont need more than the out of the box sticker which is also a cooling pad. If you want to install it on a laptop or a PlayStation 5, then you may need something better.

> 3 dayThis was super easy to install in my PS5. The only trick was sliding the cover off the PS5, which I watched a video to make sure I pulled in the correct direction to make sure I didnt break any tabs or anything. Other than that, its one screw to open the very obvious expansion port cover, then you pop the stick in and move another screw to hold it in place. Sony clearly intends for people to make this one simple surgery on their system; everything else is hidden from view behind other panels. When I turned the PS5 on, it recognized and formatted the new hard drive, and it had 1.01TB storage on it.
