Buscaba un NVME que ofreciera mayor velocidades en lecturas secuenciales 4k y este SSD teóricamente lo ofrecía, por mi trabajo buscaba acelerar mis máquinas virtuales que usan LINUX y Oracle. Tengo varios NVME y simplemente el SAMSUNG 980 no ofreció mejoras, anexo una comparativa contra un CORSAIR MP510 el cual es el que trataba de mejorar con el SAMSUNG 980 y simplemente no se logró, aún no sé si conservaré esta unidad. El producto no es malo pero para mis necesidades no cubrió las expectativas.

Not sure why peeps are still buying the 970 Evo Plus, when this usually 40-50 dollars cheaper. You’re getting almost the same speeds and same reliability, have had mine in my new system with a 5600x and 3070, and it’s been amazing, nothing to complain about. Even YouTube videos show that the 980 and 970 Evo Plus are almost identical.

Realmente me encantó este NVMe, es muy bueno, anteriormente había tenido un XPG pero dejo de funcionar de un día para otro, así que decidí cambiar a un Samsung, y es una delicia, su software es muy bueno e intuitivo, lo único complicado es actualizar el firmware del SSD, pero de ahí en más es un excelente producto, 100% recomendado.

If you’re in the market for a fast gaming drive, know that this is NOT the EVO. The 980 EVO is twice the price and half again as fast. This drive is for better performance In startups, small program starts and programs that calll lots of dll’s. It improves most software actions that are graphic intensive and will help rendering speeds. It is not a real eye opener for gaming. I use this as my boot drive for most software supported by a 16TB HDD for my media. It requires a lot of configuring for that and you have to make sure the cache for each program stays on the M.2. I’ve also always been curious why drive manufacturers always think the solid state drive tops out ar 1TB. That is simply too small unless you are building a dedicated computer for this drive. They sell 2TB models, but they are almost exactly twice the price with no performance improvement. You be better off buying two 1TB drives and running them in RAID0 configuration for speed improvements. For hard core gaming, get the 980 EVO. For anything else, this is a good quality drive and, if you have any computer, particularly a laptop, using only HDD drives, this will feel like greased lightening.
