> 3 dayi received this ssd yesterday, and upon testing it, i noticed that whenever i play a video, it would stutter every 5 seconds or so consistently. this has never happened with my other drives whether HDD or SSD (internal). i have up to date bios and drivers, so not sure what is going on. anyway this is unacceptable for an SSD. returning the product. otherwise, this ssd would have been good. temperature is good. even after transferring 300GB worth of data continuously, it maxed out at around 40+ degress C.

Greater than one weekI had no issues with backing up onto this SSD. Yes, it heated up, but thats typical of SSDs, as I understand.

> 3 dayIve successfully installed Big Sur 11.2.3 on this external ssd and used it as a boot drive for my new M1 Mac Mini. Works really well, doesnt get hot. Oddly, to create the boot drive I had to connect via the USB A-C adapter in a regular USB port. Once the drive was formatted and OS installed and I booted from it once, I was then able to simply move it to my USB-C port and continue to use as a boot drive. I could not install Big Sur when using the USB-C connection directly.
